It seems like you are still using very older version of Easydiscuss because now the latest version of Easydiscuss also available admin to change what permalink format they want to use and I also noticed you have customized your theme in your easydiscuss page right?

By the way, I already hack on this file JoomlaFolder\components\com_easydiscuss\helpers\router.php , if system detected the user do not have nickname, it will use their username instead.

Thanks for the quick reply. It's really appreciated! We'll definitely upgrade in the near future (as you may see, I've been a customer for many years, so we love the updates!), however, is there a way to hack the file so the permalink is the userID vs. their username/ nickname? Upgrading will take some time, as there are customizations in place. So I guess the question is: is it possible to hack a way to force the permalink to be userID?

Also - in the newest version, can you please let me know what the new permalink options are?

I've tested in your site, it seems like that was not possible to only show the id for your user profile.

Regarding the new setting you can refer on my attached screenshot below.

Thanks for your reply, however we do need some sort of solution. When we are not using SEF URLs, the ID shows for the user. So we just need this same functionality when SEF is turned on. Does that make sense?

I already applied some hack in your site few files, now it will only show user id instead of their username, please have a check.

I moved over those files you mentioned over to the production site, however when clicking on any user's profile, it would always just route you to your own profile page instead of the other user's page. Can you please see if there were any other changes in other files besides the 3 mentioned in your note?

Perhaps you can try go to backend > Easydiscuss > settings > seo > user permalink set to `realname` > save and see how it goes?

If the issue still persists, can you provide us with your production site and FTP access so we can better have a look?

You can edit your first post and put your site details again into optional information.

It seems like you didn't replace all the fix files into your live site, after I applied these fix again in your live site, everything work fine now.

By the way, these router.php original file, I already renamed it to router.php_original

You can take a look from your site and enable back to SEF.
