Joomla 2.5.20
EasyBlog 5.0.20 (Updated from Version 3.9.x)

Previously I had the Latest Blogs module display on the home page and a menu item for Frontpage

Since updating the module no longer displays, and the frontpage menu item (after updating it to the new frontpage option in the new version) goes to a 404 error page.

Also, in the back-end none of the posts/blogs from before the update are listed under Posts (They exist in the database though in 'easyblog_post')

I have no Authors listed in the Authors page (there are users listed in the database: '_easyblog_users')

On the ACL page I see the list of User Groups but have no way to edit these either (no edit button in top right of page like usual)

Under SEO (Meta Tag) in the back end, there are a number of entries but these appear to be the BLOGS from before the update.

Hey Michael.

I have checked in your site, it seems like all the ACL data is missing from your database, so I manually added data back in this table `#__easyblog_acl`.

Then I noticed when I access your backend blog listing page hitting following error, can you consult with your webhosting provider disable the open_basedir restriction on your server.

Warning: is_file(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File error

keep us update once your hosting disable this restriction.

[Edited] I have temporary disabled this 2 plugins on your site.

Hi Arlex,
I have copied the site to my local environment to test this (as my host would not adjust that setting). However I am coming across the same problem.
I am not seeing any data in the back end or front end where there used to be data, in particular posts.

Perhaps you can try this following method and see how it goes?
http://stackideas.com/forums/acl-issue,-no-one-able-to-post#reply-220207

If you need that import sql data in this table #__easyblog_acl , you can download that file at here :
http://stackideas.com/forums/acl-issue,-no-one-able-to-post#reply-219727

Before you process anything please backup first.

Hi Arlex,

Ok the database update worked. In the admin area it shows the posts but the front end there is no posts being displayed?
e.g.
There are no blog posts available yet currently

In the admin area, if I edit one of the posts and just click onto Apply it will then appear; I dont want to do this for each of the posts.

Also if I click onto read more (front end for the post), the following error comes up:
Fatal error: Call to a member function getHeader() on a non-object in /components/com_easyblog/views/views.php on line 202

Hi Michael,

Hm, without direct access to your easyblog 5 site it's quite hard to identify the real cause of your issue. Can you go to your frontpage menu item and take a screenshot of the settings there and then pass to us so we can see if there are misconfiguration with your settings?

Hey Michael,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

You can provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access in `site detail ` tab.

Or you can send to my email address arlex.wong@stackideas.com as well.

Hey Michael,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

I've checked in your site, it seems like all the posts already existing on your blog frontpage, even i click on the blog entry view, it show correctly without hitting any 404 error, perhaps you can take a look of my video link here : http://screencast.com/t/i8G7wVWQyl

Maybe I missing something here? Please advise.

Hi Arlex,

Interesting, so you did nothing to the website / administrator area?

Strange as the read more and links were going to 404 page and none of the posts were listed on the homepage or in news area.

Hi Michael,

I am sorry but I'm not quite understand what do you mean by the homepage is not listing anything. Seems like everything is showing correctly from my end. Check my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/TQaxqyegoa . The readmore button also lead to the correct blog entry as you can see from my video link here, http://screencast.com/t/1c7pOiARx . Not really sure how to replicate the issue here.

Ok,

So I did a fresh install of the website, ran the easyblog update. Posts were not showing up within the administrator area, so I then went to Maintenance and Database and clicked on Start. All done.

Went to the front end of the website and no posts are showing, went to blog and There are no blog posts?

I have updated the site details to check it out.

Hi Michael,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

May I know what is the correct file path of your FTP? It seems like the provided FTP file structure is for older version of easyblog 3.9 instead of easyblog 5. Please advise.

The details I have supplied is the correct ftp file path?

Look in the tmp folder you will see I am updating easyblog by Install from Directory (Extension > Extension Manager).

No idea why the file structure is version 3.9, look in components folder and there is com_easyblog_v5?

I put a echo in the index.php and refreshed the URL and it came up on the page. The ftp are correct.

Hi Michael,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like for some reason all of your blog post does not have any category assigned for each of them hence there will be an issue when easyblog are trying to display the blog post on the frontpage listing. Perhaps during the installation process the maintenance does not get executed correctly.

By the way I've fix this for you by mass assigning the category for each of your blog post and from your backend > easyblog > posts and then run the maintenance script again from your backend > easyblog > maintenance. Your blog frontpage should get display properly now.

Soo close, we just have an issue with the theme now.

On the live site (see optional information within site details) the theme is set to Vintage, we have also selected this theme on the temporary website but viewing the source it is showing wireframe and not vintage. Tried changing this in the different setting locations and yet still not showing vintage.

Are we changing the theme in the right location or is there an issue with the upgrade?

Hi Michael,

In easyblog 5 we have enforced entry view to only use one theme which is wireframe theme. The theme options will only affecting your blog listing page such as frontpage, category listing and so on. This way it will be easier for us to manage and perform template override if needed. Hence I believe this is not an issue to begin with.

Hi,

Ok, do you know of anyone who has created a stylesheet / plugin to replicate the default vintage theme for the blog entry theme?
