I have EasySocial installed on Joomla 3.3, and I’m interested in changing some of the fields for a user’s profile. Specifically, I want to make some fields not required. It looks like you can do it using the ‘Profile Types’ tab, but when I try to edit the field, a pop up on the right says ‘loading configuration’ indefinitely.

Also, when I try to delete a field it disappears as if it were deleted, but when I click ‘save’, my browser prompts me to ‘stay’ or ‘leave’ the page as if I had left a field unsaved. When the page is reloaded, the field remains.

So essentially, I am unable to edit or delete any of the user profile fields.

Can you give me some advice on what to do?
Hello Alex,

Hm, it does seem like there are some javascript errors on your site. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello Alex,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I seem can't login to your administrator site. It's giving me blank page. Can you provide us with the correct link to your administrator site so that we can continue debugging this issue with your site? By the way, can you tell us may I know which field do you wish to delete/edit?

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Ok, I'll resend you the site info. We might have been doing a backup or something.

I'm interested in removing 'default editor' and changing Birthday, Address, and Gender so they're not required.

Hello Alex,

I have tested your site and for some reasons when an AJAX call is made to the server, without the index.php, it seems to fail as you can see here, http://screencast.com/t/NS2ylCNLSnt . Is there anything on your hosting's end that prevents this? If the Ajax call is made via https://sashahelps.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&_ts=1409718324604 , it seems to work but not https://sashahelps.com/administrator/?option=com_easysocial&_ts=1409718324604

We're looking into it.

However, why isn't Easy Social making the call from the URL including index.php in the first place? I am not surprised that the host is responding incorrectly when 'https://sashahelps.com/administrator/?option=com_easysocial&_ts=1409718324604' is used because it looks like an incorrectly formed URL.

In the interest of time, is there a way I can force the AJAX call to be made using the URL including index.php?

Hello Alex,

The reason that we do not use the "index.php" because most of the time, site owners create a redirection from http://site.com/index.php to http://site.com . Hence, we do not add the index.php in the AJAX requests

I've also noticed when I enable the Joomla Debug Console, that there are multiple duplicate database queries. Could this be contributing to the problem or an indication of the cause.

We've been disabling other components and plugins that interact with Easy Social but haven't had any luck so far.

Hello Alex,

The only cause of this is actually because your hosting disallow "posting" access to http://site.com/?somekey=somevalue . It wouldn't actually be caused by SQL queries on the site. You should contact your web hosting provider and see if they can allow such requests?
