Hello,

It seems to be no privacy option can be set on the "Name" field (Joomla User Fullname). Did I miss something?
On the contrary, on the "Email" field (Joomla User Email), privacy option can be set...

+Feature Request
Thank you. Here is my feature request:

Hi,

I am sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for the heads up. Currently there is no settings to set this in the current system. However, you can voice this out here: stackideas.com/voices/easysocial so that our developers discuss and consider to include this in the next releases.

Thanks.

Happy New Year.

Hmm, any progress on this? ...

We have to be able to hide the real names on our site (a dating site) and allow members to have privacy until they decide to give out that information...

Why I cant remove 'real names' and just use usernames is mind boggling to me.

A dating/social site that forces everyone to give real names will soon be closing the doors, imho.

This is a serious limitation. My members deserve to control privacy and what could be more private than their names?

Please allow us to remove 'real names' from profiles completely, if that is what we need for our site.

thanks,

Bridgette

Hey Bridgette,

You can actually configure this in the settings of EasySocial under Settings > Users > Display > Display Name Format . Just choose "username" instead and EasySocial will use the user's username

For anyone else - I just checked and we did have those settings correct. The real name was displaying in search results.

You can keep real names out of search by changing the setting here:

Settings > Users > Workflow > User Search Indexing

Thanks again Mark - your answer got me to the right place!
