Hello,
I just install easyblog on our dev plateforme, and i'm little confuse.
When we have check this product, we were really happy to find a nice blogging system with a lot of things we want.
And one of the think we want is to offer "personal blog" to each users of our plateforme.
By default this "personal blog" will not exist, the user must "create it" by an action on his profil for example.

The goal here is not to have a new instance for each users, but to be able to offert a specific url for their posts.

But so far i didn't see how to do it.
Is it possible with easyblog, and if yes how ?

Thanks for your help.
Best regards.
Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in EasyBlog!

You can achieve that by creating a new menu item at backend>Menus>Manage>Menu item>new select "menu item type" to single author as shown http://prntscr.com/bv3hho and http://prntscr.com/bv3ho3. Hope this helps.

Hello Warith,
Thank you for your reply.
I did see this feature, but how can i select the current user ?
With this feature my menu item will always link to the select user, not the current one connected.
I guess what i'm looking for is a menu item "my blog" that will display, for the user connected, his blog.

Another point, it's seem that all the register user have access by default to easyblog, but we only want to give access for the user that ask for it. How can we achieve that ?

I have other questions, but let's do it step by step

Thank you.

Best regards

You have to change that to "My Blog" as shown http://prntscr.com/bvmz40.

You can achieve this by set the "access level" at backend>menus>manages>Your Easyblog as shown http://prntscr.com/bvn0ul.

If i'm not wrong that only limit access to a population of user. We dont want that, everybody can access and see the blogs, but only the users that "ask for it" can create content for their blog.
Not sur if i'm clair enough.

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion earlier. Unfortunately, we can't afford to do that currently . But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this issues in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Hi warith,
I will do that thank you.

One more thing, It's seem that only authors with content are listed in the layout [list of author], if it's the case, that good for us, with this we can create a page that list all the blog, without the fear to have some empty user blog and it's sort of fixing the fact that we cant, at this time, do the feature ask before.
Can we add some custom fields to show in this view, we really like the idea to give at our users a way to personalize their blog with for example a blog title that will be display in this view.

To be clear, the author can specify somewhere, i didn't check already the documentation for that , a general title and description for his blog, and it will be use in different view as like in google.

Is it possible?

Let me know if it's not clear enough.

Thanks

Best Regards.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

If I get correctly with your meaning here, do you mean you would like to fliter out those blogger do not have any blog post yet, and do not show on blogger listing page?
If yes, you can enable this settng from Backend > Easyblog > settings > author > Only Show Authors With Posts - YES

Unfortunately we do not have display custom field at blogger listing page.
But based on what is your requirement is already available in single author page, you can refer on my attached screenshot below.
Regarding the blog title and description they can setup from their user profile page.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip.
It seem i can't access the easyblog profil anywhere, cause we use easysocial too.
i did some research this Week end, but didn't find how to access it.
I guess i should be able to modify the author profil from easyblog profil menu, but when i do that, i'm redirect to easysocial profil that show no settings of easyblog.

Best regards.

You can achieve that by disable "Use EasySocial Edit Profile Link" as shown http://prntscr.com/bxjh84. Please give it a try and see how it goes. Hope this helps
