Hey guys,

I'm trying to configure a sitemap for my site.
As you know, OSMap is the new name of the Xmap plugin. OSmap is now being maintained and developed by the guys at OSTraining.

OSMap works just fine on my website, it just does not recognize the EasyDiscuss Menu/Pages. I then downloaded "All EasyDiscuss Plugins" and installed "plg_easydiscuss_xmap.zip" but there seems to be something wrong. The EasyDiscuss menu/pages are still not recognized and when I try to access the "EasyDiscuss Xmap Plugin" plugin from the Plugin Manager, the page just reloads and the plugin status changes to locked - I cannot access the plugin.
Probably you just need to make some small adjustments to the plugin so it works fine with OSmap/Joomla 3.4.3.

I'm on Joomla 3.4.3 and EasyDiscuss 3.2.9676. It should be really easy to reproduce the issue on your end.

I'm waiting for your response. Thanks guys!
Hey Ivo,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as we are currently having a Joomla conference here in Malaysia and most of the team are involved in the preparation.

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can better have a look of this?

Hey Arlex,

Thank you for the reply.
I hope you will have a great Joomla Conference there

Please find my site details under the "Site Details" tab. I'm not including the FTP details as you really do not need it. You actually do not need any of my Site Details as the issue is easily reproducible on a default Joomla 3.4.3 installation with EasyDiscuss 3.2.9676, OSMap 3.1.5 and your plugin for Xmap.

Hi Arlex,

Look now, I really do not want to be a "pain in the a**", I'm actually a nice guy, but all this is becoming quite frustrating.

I have 3 major issues and I didn't actually get a "normal" solution for any of them.

Look, I'm also a Joomla developer and I just want to build a nice, working platform, where I can sell my products and support my customers.

No, the Sitemap does not seem to work. I do not need an HTML Sitemap. All I need is the XML sitemap which I will use in Google's Webmaster Tools. And currently the XML sitemap does not show the discussions URLs.

Please look into the issue further. Thank you.

Hi Arlex,

No, it still does not work. The XML sitemap does not show the EasyDiscuss URLs (discussions).

Also, I would like to ask you for two things:

1. Please delete all links to my website from all your comments in this Discussion. I do not want them to be visible for the other users.

2. Please update your Xmap/OSmap plugin once this issue is fixed so I can download it and install it on my production website. Thanks.

Hi Arlex,

First of all, thank you for deleting the URLs to my website. Please delete the screenshot from your last comment as well.

Ok, I see the EasyDiscuss URLs in the XML Sitemap ONLY when I'm logged in (it is not necessary to be logged in as "admin", you just need to be logged in with any account).

But this is simply not right. No, honestly, just think about it... the EasyDiscuss URLs are accessible for everybody, so you should NOT need to be logged in in order to see them in the XML sitemap. Well.... how can Google (the Google bot) log in in order to see the sitemap and crawl these pages?

No, come on man. Come on guys....

There is something very interesting that I discovered while troubleshooting the problem. Please read the following very, very carefully and discuss it with the other guys in your team because I really need a meaningful answer. Really mate, it is getting very annoying. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate all your help but not getting a meaningful answer/solution is really, really frustrating.

So here it is.... I have a menu item called "My Account". The "Access" of this menu item is set to "Registered", so only registered users can see it. If you set the "Access" of the "My Account" menu item to "Public", then you can see the EasyDiscuss URLs in the XML sitemap even if you are not logged in. But why? I do not see any logic in this. Can you please have a look at this and investigate it? Really, I cannot find any logic in this behavior. I also disabled the "My Account" menu item (and all submenus) while it was set to "Registered" but the EasyDiscuss URLs were not shown in the XML sitemap. The only way to get the EasyDiscuss URLs to show for all users (not for logged in users only) is to set the "Access" of the "My Account" menu item to "Public", but I need it to be "Registered", it MUST stay "Registered".

Arlex, do you see how long my comments are? Do you? I'm just trying to explain everything in as much details as possible so it can be easier for you to troubleshoot the problem. Would you please also write a nice (if needed long) reply, that is meaningful and provides a solution? I'm really asking you to look at this issue seriously. Please man!

P.S. I re-downloaded the Xmap plugin for EasyDiscuss so I can install it on my production website but it seems that you have not updated it. It still does not work (see my first comment in this discussion). Thank you.

Well, here's another update...

Currently I have a Main Menu Item (1st level) called "Support". This Main Menu Item is of type "Menu Alias" which points to the submenu item called "Support Forum". I have this menu structure in order to have a properly structured website and in order to have the URLs I want.

If I change the Main Menu Item ("Support") to be of type "EasyDiscuss - Frontpage Layout" then the XML sitemap shows the URLs for all users (as it should).

So, the question is - why the XML sitemap does not show the EasyDiscuss URLs if the EasyDiscuss menu item is a submenu item of a menu that is of type "Menu Alias"? I do believe it is a bug which comes from your plugin for OSmap/Xmap. Please let me know if I'm wrong and explain why it works like that. Thanks.

And once again, please update your plugin for Xmap/OSmap (under your "Downloads" section) so I can download it and install it on my production website.

Hey Ivo,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I believe you should consult with OSMap developer when resolve this issue, because other user also hitting exactly same issue if created `menu item alias` for submenu and already reported. Please see following reference link.

https://www.alledia.com/forum/osmap/136/
https://github.com/OSTraining/OSMap/issues/70
https://www.alledia.com/forum/osmap/218/#1296

By the way, I follow one of the reply temporary solution make `menu item alias` menu type change to `external link`, it work fine now.
Try access XML Sitemap link again : http://yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_osmap&view=xml&tmpl=component&id=1

This one worked for me. Maybe it is a help for each one still searching for a solution. I hope it is fine posting a url to another shop. :/ I am in no relation to this shop, my intention is just to prevent others spending so much time into finding a solution as I had to.

Hi guys,

Would you please fix your "EasyDiscuss Plugin for Xmap" (plg_easydiscuss_xmap.zip) and send me a download link?

You already fixed it on my test website but now I need to install it on my production website. Please, just fix it and send me a download link, do not ask for my website URL and credentials because you really do not need them

Here's a quote from my first comment that describes the issue:

Thanks!

P.S. Just to update you - the other issue we discussed here was fixed by the OSMap team:
