Hello, we're experiencing issues with internal links not posting thumbs nails in the stream on lifesmet.com. The site is SSL and certified. trying to figure out why internal links won't show images and outside links will.
Hi steven,

Can you provide us how the internal link look like?

And how to reproduce this in our end? Perhaps you can provide us with your site details?

This is reproduced by grabbing any link on the site and putting it into the stream, no thumbnail display happens and all you get is an ugly link to display. If it's done with a link from outside the site, like youtube for example the thumbnail displays a clickable image and works as it should.

Could there be a reason why it wont parse internal links?

Hello Steven,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. The reason that "links" are able to be parsed is because they follow either the oembed standards or the opengraph standards but the page at https://www.lifesmet.com/lifestube/video/13-foreigner-i-want-to-knoe-what-love-is-official-music-video doesn't seem to rely on any of these. Hence, there's no way for us to pick this up

What extension is this? If you could get the extension developer to either conform to the standards set in oembed, EasySocial would be able to pick it up.

If it were to be just the oembed from this plug in, then wouldn't it work with any other regular joomla page, like the "about" page? well, it doesn't work with any internal link from the site at all, even the simple joomla pages. On the "Mike" profile the skype wont even show unless you disable protection in the browser.

Hello Steven,

The question is those pages that you try to share, does it contain any opengraph or oembed tags at all? If you try to share a blog post link from EasyBlog, you'll notice that it should be picking up the blog post details correctly because EasyBlog uses the opengraph tags which is required by Facebook.

Hello, I've installed easyblog and have chosen a post with it's images on the server. The thumbs still do NOT show in the stream or for that matter from any internal site link. external site links work fine. I.E. the youtube post of "Little Boy" currently in the stream. I am very much hoping this will get resolved soon. My client is starting to be unhappy....which is the only reason I haven't listed easyblog to this domain.

Hello Steven,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I am unable to login to your site and backend with the provided credentials. Can you try to change the SEO setting to "default" from your backend > easyblog > settings > SEO > advanced setting, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-04-08_1707.png and then clear the cache and try again?

If the problem still persist please provide us with the correct joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly.

okay, I've updated the post above. Let me reiterate, NO INTERNAL LINKS ARE WORKING REGARDLESS IF THE IMAGES ARE ON THE SERVER OR NOT. Hopefully, that was big enough to see, because ironically external links like YouTube, ARE WORKING. The post "Welcome to The LifesMet Community" is all completely internal including the pics. The log in details are in this posting twice, just in case they don't show up for you, the FTP details ARE included.....

Umm...nope, that's not it. I am the hosting provider and CEO of Host Continuum. SSL CERT Attached. note: the SSL is identified and the only page it has problems with is the easyblog page with the feed. look at both attachments SSL.jpg states fully encrypted and SSLonEasyBlogPage.jpg only partially encrypted. I don't think this is server side guys.

Conclusion: the images in the EasyBlog page will not encrypt in the feed. Also, when posting an external link like YouTube (which indecently is also SSL certified) in the stream of EasySocial the image thumb DOES show up but causes a partial encryption message. I.E firefox (refer to PartialEncryptonEasySocialStream.jpg upper left. I don't think I'm the only customer with a Certified SSL am I?

attachment PartialEncryptonEasySocialStream.jpg When I remove the SSL Certified YouTube video from stream, the message goes away and it's fully encrypted once again.

Just found out something interesting, once the YouTube video is second in the stream the partial encryption error goes away. I'll try editing a lower stream item with an internal link and see if the image thumb comes up. oops.....can't edit links, only stories. Well, anyway...I hope this information helps.

Hi Steven Cranfill,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

Regarding this this error, we have applied some fix in this file -> JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easysocial\includes\connector\adapters\curl.php
Added this code at LINE 55

$this->options[$url][CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER] = false;

Can you give it a try, it should be work fine now.
