Hi,

I have a couple of questions:

1. I am currently using the Front Page Blog Layout. I have the featured items displaying nicely in the rotator however there are no recent blog posts showing at the bottom of the page. How do I get snippets of recent blogs posts (with read more links) to show? Ideally I'd like to keep the existing layout but if not possible I can have the most recent blog (full blog) at the top of the page with recent blog snippets at the bottom. I've installed the latest blog module however I don't know how to use it.

2. Is it possible for me, as the super user, to create accounts for other bloggers and then post on their behalf? I see where I can create accounts tied to Joomla but was hoping I could create accounts solely for Easy Blog and then select whom I'm posting as. We have several bloggers here but currently, they do not post on their own. They send the content to me and I post.

Thank you in advance for your help.
Am also getting a 404 error at this URL - http://cw-test.cloudaccess.net/blogs?format=feed&type=rss - when clicking on the subscribe to RSS link. I've checked and the settings and RSS is enabled. What else do I need to do? Thanks.

Hello Cassondra,

Please find the answer from your inquiries below:

#1. You need to enable the following option in order to include featured items in front page list, backend > easyblog > settings > layout > general > featured item. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1101_001.png

#2. If I'm correct, you want to moderate all the blog entries from all of your blogger am I right? If that so, you can set from the ACL setting for the bloggers user group and set "Publish Entry" to "No". You can find the setting from your backend > easyblog > ACL > [your bloggers user group] > publish entry = no. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1105.png . With this option turned on, you can view all their blogs entry from the pending section at backend > easyblog > pending. http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1108.png

#3. Regarding with the 404 error, can you provide us with your backend and FTP access so we can check on this issue directly? Please advise.

For #1, I enabled per your instructions however the page still says Recent blog posts - No entries created yet.

I don't understand #2 but I'll try to follow your instructions and see what the result is.

For #3, please see Site Details below:

Thank you for your help.

Hello Cassondra,

The reason why there is no blog post shown at the frontpage is because you've set the blog to not showing at the frontpage as seen from the screenshot here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1258.png . You need to turn this option "On" whenever you created the new blog entry, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1258.png . I've enabled all the blog entries to be display on the frontpage now.

Regarding with error 404 issue, I've set the SEO setting to point to the frontpage easyblog layout menu item and the the error is gone afterwards.

Hope these help

Hello Cassondra,

You can find the rss truncation setting by going to your backend > easyblog > settings > workflow > RSS , http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-06_1620.png

Unfortunately there is no settings to set the character limit for the truncation rss feed with the current system.

Hello Cassondra,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, it actually depends on how the content is written. You need to insert a readmore break in the content so that the contents would be split into intro and main text.
