Hi there! I hope there is a problem with my installation but there seems to be no filter for the profile newsfeed? Yet there is one for the main newsfeed!
When will this be introduced because i believe it is a must?
There should be news feed filters in the dashboard as of right now. I'm sure someone from the stacked team will be able to figure out this issue on your site.

You can see the profile filters in motion here: http://www.alpineascent.com/profile/josh

See the apps on the left side below the profile picture? On the profile the filter works for that person, otherwise if you want to filter content in general you need to use the filters on the dashboard.

Why not have the filters on the profile as well, they contain posts ?
I not talking about the apps!
: the attachment below shows the filters on the dashboard! Why not have those filters on the profile as well? It makes it very hard to find a certain post from some time ago. You have added it to the dashboard but not the profile, i don't really understand why!

Sam, I completely agree that things like photos and such should have a app filter on the profile. Mark mentioned a concern about this, fortunately I have an ace up my sleeve on how to address the issue. My vision of the profile apps is to have them be able to work as either a widget or an app depending on the admins choice. The big reason to have them display as apps is so that all the options are easily accessible to the user.

So in some respects Sam we are on the same page in terms of liking filters on the profile. Eventually once EasySocial gets many of the other needed features I would love to see the article app have special abilities that allow the user to very easily find the content they want using article categories and a search method. Using ES's methods I know exactly how it would work.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. The reason we did not include the apps filter ( basically there are just the stream filter ) is to avoid confusion with the existing apps in profile page. In profile, to view the user stream, the viewer has to click on the 'timeline' app

I will discuss again with the team and see how we can place these stream filter into profile page
Thanks again for the inputs.

Have a nice day
Sam

How could there be confusion if the 'apps' are for integrating components and the filters are for the posts? They are completely different things?
Thank you

So Mark, when you say filters are you talking about filters for that particular use that you are looking at? Right now it's late, tomorrow I plan on giving a few ideas on how to go about the photo app on the profile and dealing with tiny screens vs big screens.

I am referring to the application filters that is on the dashboard. I believe Sam Famma is referring to having these app filters on the profile. Anyway, please do use http://stackideas.com/voices/ from now on to submit your feature requests.

Anyway, kindly please do take note that all feature request submitted on the forums would be ignored / deleted as these discussions are really chewing up most of our time. Please utilize the voices area at http://stackideas.com/voices from now on.

Mark, to make a link in a thread you gotta to it the bbcode way. Here is the syntax:

[url=site.comText[/url (I purposely removed the right brackets] so that it wouldn't load in this forum)

I can see how that could be confusing for the user. If that was added, it should be a configurable widget.

Oh cool, I didn't know the link button put it in the title format. All this time I been manually typing out the bbcode considering that I figured the link button was the older kind. The good news is that I've been using the image button for images.
