Moderation of comments and 'continue reading'
-
ResolvedHi
I have just purchased EasyBlog for a client who is using a Yootheme template. It installed without a hitch and I am very pleased with the facilities. (prerelease version at
Installed version: 3.0.8593
I have a couple of questions which I can't seem to find the answers to in the documentation.
1) Is it possible to show a blog post in full without needing to press a "Continue Reading" button?
2) I have set the system such that new registered users cannot create new blog posts without them being moderated and accepted by the site administrator....this is what the client wants to happen.
I would also like to do the same with comments i.e. for registered users to be able to create comments but not publish them. We would like them to be moderated and accepted first by someone with appropriate permissions.
The documentation suggests there is a flag called "Publish own comments" which is maybe the one to change.

However I don't seem to be able to find that setting. Am I looking in the wrong place maybe?
Thanks for your assistance. Great product!
Best regards

Selected answer for this questionHello Richard,
Sorry for the confusions, the "Publish Own Comments" is actually supposed to be in Komento under the ACL section

Hello Richard,
1. You might wanna try to turn off this setting "Show read more only when necessary" at the backend > Components > Easyblog > Settings > Layout > General. However, for blog posts that have "read more" divider, Easyblog will respect and add the read more button.
2. You can find this "Pusblish own comments" setting also from backend > Components > Easyblog > ACL and then you can select the user group that you want to modify.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. -
Hello Jewei
1. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I tried the "Show read more only when necessary" setting. It acted as you suggested but I found I had to click on the blog heading before commenting etc. I'll stay with the "Continue Reading" setting. It's fine. Thanks.
2. I still cannot find the setting "Publish own comments". When I go to "Components > Easyblog > ACL" and select any user group they all have the same settings which I have attached below.
"Publish own comments" is not one of the settings

Hi Jewei
I've now installed Komento and have the 'comment moderation' facility running fine.
The setting I used was under
Components > Easyblog > Settings > Comments
Then the "Moderations" group on the page and
Moderate New Comments Y/N
Thanks for your help.
Richard
(...still didn't see the "Publish own comments" setting anywhere...)

Hi Jewei
I noticed later that the ability to comment on my standard Joomla articles had been added - which I did not really want.
Si I disabled all the Kommento facilites and found that my Blog comments still needed moderation.....just what I wanted.
.................. so I don't think I needed Kommento after all.
The settings under
" .........Components > Easyblog > Settings > Comments
Then the "Moderations" group on the page and
Moderate New Comments Y/N..........."
seems to do it all.
Many thanks for your help. Great product!
