I am currently running a Kunena / Community Builder site that focuses heavily on GroupJive for CB, for user-managed communities. Basically, an Admin creates a group and hands it to a User, that User becomes the group's Admin, and handles all membership, moderation, etc, without the Joomla Admin needing to be involved.

Is this something that EasySocial can handle / replicate? Can it migrate from CB / GJ to ES, without a loss of either data, or user memberships & permissions?

Thank you!
Hello Geoffrey,

Currently the user registrations is still handled by the site admin as the group admins doesn't really have access to the administrative tasks on the site. The group admin however can approve / reject / kick a user out from a group. Unfortunately we do not have a migrator for Groupjive yet

OK, thank you - that is what I needed to know. That would be the main thing holding me back from switching from CB/GJ to ES.

If / when such a thing becomes available, I will gladly come back! (And if you need a sample site to look at, I can help out, as well.)

Any word on this? I saw 1.3 was released - it would be wonderful to be able to migrate over from CB / GJ to Easy Social.

Hello Geoffrey,

We don't actually have a migrator for Groupjive yet but we do have a migrator for Community Builder

I am very, very eager to move away from CB / GJ / UddeIM, and to a more unified, better supported system, but I cringe at re-creating a dozen plus groups, and their members, by hand.

Any word on if it will ever be possible to migrate from GroupJive to EasySocial? (Also, is migration from UddeIM possible?)

Hello Geoffrey,

I am really sorry that currently EasySocial do not have a migrator to migrate data from GroupJive to EasySocial yet I will see if I can add this feature into EasySocial 1.4 or not. If there is no more slot for 1.4, then we will try to add this feature in EasySocial 1.5 instead

As for UddeIM, I am sorry but we dont have a migrator for this as well

Hope this help and have a nice day
Sam

Hello,

I am seeing news on 1.4 - any word if either migrators were included, or are on the roadmap?

The only thing stopping me from purchasing EasySocial is the idea that I would need to re-create all my GroupJive stuff by hand, and potentially losing years worth of UddeIM PMs.

Hi Geoffrey Schaller,

Sorry for late reply to this,

I have checked on Easysocial 1.4 roadmap, it seems like the GroupJive migrator feature haven't include 1.4 roadmap yet,

But we will see if we can implement this in the future version 1.4 or 1.5, because our developer still working on all the task in 1.4 roadmap.

Congratulations on the release of 1.4 !

Is there any word on a migration path for GroupJive, or UddeIM? EasySocial looks great, but I can't justify wiping years worth of data to move to it.

Hello guys... do you have any update on this topic?

I'm exactly in the same position, about migrating a CB/UddIM/GJ page to EasySocial...

Having the migration tool and avoiding to do everything by hand would be a great help!
