I am currently looking for a membership extension to use on my Joomla 3.3. I have been testing around with the Akeeba Subscription and also looking at Membership Pro. While searching this, I came across one of Mark's post here where you've said you will be releasing your own subscription in Easysocial. That will be perfect for me since I would prefer if ES handles everything from registration to paid membership plans. However this post was posted more than 6 months ago by Mark. Can I ask what is the status of this? When would you be releasing the subscription with EasySocial?

I asked Mark about this 6 months ago and I would suspect that it would happen in version 1.5 or 1.6 rather than in 1.4, so you can expect it will take until the end of the year at the earliest. I am patient to wait, because I am sure that Mark and his team are focused on the billing stuff first before getting to the Paid Member subscription stuff.

Hello Neel,

As Randall posted, we do not have a subscription modal currently but we plan to add this in the future versions of EasySocial

Thank you Randall and Mark. I understand guys here at stackideas are working on a number of things at the moment. For my project, I have to complete and release it by November this year for which the membership component is very very important due to the number of premium contents. Unfortunately I will not be able to wait until 1.5 or 1.6 for this since I am guessing that can take easily later than Jan-feb next year considering its only 1.3 beta now. So I might need to go with Akeeba Subscription for now if there is no other option. It will be perfect and a blessing if you are able to release the subscription feature before end of this year and this is HUGE since I will be using ES for all my user registrations, user managements, etc..! Even a simple subscription modal should do for the first release while you update its feature in future versions of EasySocial. This is so important especially when dealing with contents.

Mark, would you be able to consider my request and see if you can push this feature by end of this year please?? I know you have a lot of other things too on your list but I feel the subscription feature is as important for some sites.

Thanks again...

Hello Neel,

To be honest with you, I cannot guarantee that this will be included before November but we'll see what we can do about this nevertheless Good luck in your endeavor

Thanks Mark. I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how things shape up.

When this feature is out, it will be solid since only after this it gives greater flexibility for site admins to monetize their site.
