Hey guys,

since a few days (and I don't know what happened in the meantime to our EasyBlog or Joomla system) the Media Manager of the EasyBlog editor shows the following message at the end of an upload of an image:

"unable to parse server response"

• There is no Admin Tools or another Firewall extension installed.
• ZIP is active (our phpinfo() says: "Registered PHP Streams: https, ftps, compress.zlib, compress.bzip2, php, file, glob, data, http, ftp, phar, zip"
• Till a week ago it worked well.

Any idea?

Best regards
Colin

Hello Colin,

I am sorry for the late reply.
I can't replicate this issue with your site since I can upload image without error. Here my screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/akO0G2JTji . Can you explain more how to replicate this issue with your site?

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Thanks for trying.
It seems to be a file size thing.

But as you can see on the attached screenshot: PHP settings are alright. Or at least the phpinfo() shows it. Right?

Hey Mohd, two things:

YES – the upload itself works, but:
NO – it doesn't work for files bigger than 2 Megabytes

I added the screenshot to show you what the phpinfo() file says about the allowed file sizes.
Upload a bigger file and you'll get the response "Unable to parse server response" in the Media Manager file upload panel (instead of "Completed").

Hello Colin,

I'm unable to replicate this issue with your site because I have successfully updated my blogpost by uploading image larger than 2mb. Can you please verify it for me?

Please be advise.
Thanks.

Hm. Strange.

We have used the newest Firefox and Safari on MacOSX. Any ideas?

Btw: Don't be irritated by the crazy looking design in the blog right now, since our web developer is working on some stuff there right now.

UPDATE: I found a photo (4,6 MB!) by another photo camera. This works. It even seems that any of the pictures by this specific camera work well.
BUT SADLY the photos by our two semi-professional cameras don't work.

UPDATE NO. 2: When I export those photos with iPhoto (for example to a lower resultion), the upload works like charm! 4 MB? No problem!
But when I upload the original file (in this example: 4,1 MB! ), it doesn't work!

What could prevent your Media Manager from accepting those original files of our SONY NEX and our mirror-reflex cam?

Btw: What exactly have you done and when?

Cause since this night we have an error on our Modules Manager. It doesn't seem to have any connection to EasyBlog, but I'm sure it has. Just a month ago I had something similar, but because I knew what I had changed in the meantime, I was able to figure it out. (And I still don't understand, why the hell that error occured back then…)

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$layout in /home/mentorln/public_html/plugins/system/roksprocket/roksprocket.php on line 291
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$provider in /home/mentorln/public_html/plugins/system/roksprocket/roksprocket.php on line 292
And the font sizes are a bit crazy now.

May I know where does these notice are displayed?

Ok, guys, I don't know what has happened in the last hours, but you're right: These files I sent you are working now from my computer, too. And they have definitely NOT worked just some days ago. Crazy.

I'll try to figure out, if someone of the team has done anything, and post it here, if I found out something.

Thanks so far. I'm still not convinced that the media manager error won't come back.

Best regards from Germany

Ah, and the Error message I mentioned above appeared in the Module Manager. But it has gone since just a few hours up to one day. Again I don't know why it occured and went away.

Hello Colin,

I am sorry for the late reply and thanks for your update.
The reason why the notice is displayed is because I have set the Error Reporting to maximum in order to debug media manager issue. It will display all errors and notice in your site. After I set back the Error Reporting to system default, the notice will be hide by the system.

Regarding your media manager issue, actually I didn't manage to point out the issue since it was suddenly gone. I also not convinced that this issue won't come back. However, if you do encounter again this issue, you can create a ticket to us. We will definitely assist you on this issue.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.
