Hi

Just updated to the latest version and see now that the map is always empty. My settings in backend are:

Location Enabled: YES
Provider: Google Maps
API Key

The same I see by adding a new blog entry --> add location

Here one example:
http://www.di2.ch/index.php/entry/test

Any help on that?

Thanks
Michael

Hello there,

You have to set Language Code to en as shown http://screencast.com/t/7uthtoitb at Backend>Components>EasyBlog>Settings>General>Location, I have changed it for you and it works fine now . Please give a try and see how it goes.

Hey Michael,

I have remove your API (AIzaSyA1plaVJfydCv7CVRFYsQvjhLrFW-X7k8E) key from your Google map , can you try clear your browser cache and see how it goes? Because I noticed this API key is not correct.

Hi

Whatever I do still a blank map.
I tried it with no API-Key and now generated a new one according:

http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/configuration/how-to-get-google-maps-API-key

Still the same

Tried it with a complete new Firefox Installation. So can't be a cache issue.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

I've tried to modify on this file -> JoomlaFolder\administrator\components\com_easyblog\includes\maps\maps.php but suddenly I can't access your site, now hitting 500 error even I revert back my changes from the file.

Can you consult with your webhosting provider regarding this and keep us update.

Hi Arlex

Site is back now
What I have tried in the meantime is to setup a complete fresh install of joomla without any other components, modules or plugins...just to be sure that we don't have an incompatibility here. But at the end with the same result of a blank map.

Hey Michael,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Hm, the maps seems to appear for me, http://take.ms/7XE6c

Could this be an intermittent issue with Google maps?

Hi all

Mmhh..really strange behaviour

I have seen in Google Chrome that I get this error message (see second picture):

Failed to load recource: the server responded with a status of 403 ()

As soon as I open once the link that gives the error in a seperate tab, the map works immediately in easyblog:

https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=47.4685051,8.2972173&language=en&maptype=roadmap&zoom=10&size=1280x1280&sensor=true&markers=color:red|label:S|47.4685051,8.2972173);%20height:300px

To better understand I have uploaded 4 print screens what I have done and how it looks.

Hope this helps...

Update:

When I have a look on this:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/static-maps/?hl=de

It says that the API-Key is needed in the link. Could it be that this is the issue?

Yeahhh...Maps are working now

I think same change has to be done in composer map-preview (see picture) as the preview is missing there as well

Thanks Michael

Mmmhh, for me not

I prepared a new blog entry and compared the output code. It seems that there is no google-link at all in my post. Pictures show the difference between your and my post.

It's just "happening" the first time. As soon as I edit the post the map is also there.

Hi Arlex

Tested it again with this:
http://www.di2.ch/index.php/entry/tagesblog-1-1-1

But I'm sure that this is now working on your side! It happens only the very first time when I create a blog post. On the following pictures you can see the sequence:

Screenshot 1: Create new blog post and add location --> Location is there but no background picture
Screenshot 2: The code shows that there is no information about google map picture
Screenshot 3: On that screenshot I already published the blog post and started to edit the same --> Map is there

Thanks & BR

Can you check again is it work fine now?

Because I manage to replicate this issue when you add the location from the composer, and applied some fix in this file -> JoomlaFolder\media\com_easyblog\scripts\composer\location.js
