I can login from the dashboard page, the login page, and the login module (you can see on http://rentalcarreviews.com/news/sixt-car-rental-expands-in-the-us) but for some reason I can't login from the LogBox module where I get a 404 page not found error.

I just upgraded today to 1.2.6

You can check the error on example pages:
http://rentalcarreviews.com/usa/fl/orlando-international-airport-mco/sixt-car-rental-orlando-international-airport-mco-florida-usa
http://rentalcarreviews.com/spain/balearic-islands/palma-de-mallorca-airport-pmi/goldcar-car-rental-palma-de-mallorca-airport-pmi-balearic-islands-spain

Also, when a user tries to register using FB, (normal registration process), they are taken to /community/registration/oauth/facebook page and then click Create My Account, all fine but then they get to choose a profile type from 2 options. They should only have 1 option, the second one shown (RAC Representative) is set to NOT show during registration. It only happens for FB registrations, not regular registrations.

As a sidenote - in the backend on the Dashboard page, the Members Worldwide map only shows users in the non-default RAC Representatives group. How do I get it to show regular default registered users instead? Also appears to be a couple of language strings missing after the upgrade.

Thank you
Hello David,

Had you install any component/plugin before this happens? I might have to check your plugin one by one if that might be the source of the issue but I could not enter your Joomla backend "the admin URL". The path sends me to a dead link, please advice?

Thanks:)

Hi Khairul,

Thanks for helping me with this.

I didn't install anything new, but there were a few changes today:

1. Upgrade Easysocial
2. Upgrade JReviews
3. Upgrade Nonumber Advanced Module Manager
4. Change to google analytics script

The problem is on a JReviews page.....actually, it's com_content however the file that I have embedded the module in (using nonumber modules anywhere plugin which is also used in komento login on easyblog pages for the Login module which is working fine) is a JReviews file.

Hope this helps. I am a bit stumped. Corrected admin URL attached for you.

Hello David,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. After clearing the cache in Joomla, your page works fine again now

Hi Mark - no problem I know that it's a weekend for you folks. Thanks for checking but it's actually still not working. I already cleared the Joomla cache, deleted JOT cache, purged easysocial cache, purged Cloudflare and cleared browser cache. Same problem - 404 error. I checked on IE, Firefox and Chrome - all the same.

To clarify:

1. Working from Toolbar (on every page - in the menu - right hand side - even works on the pages where the module is not working).
2. Working from Dashboard (http://rentalcarreviews.com/community).
3. Working from Login (http://rentalcarreviews.com/community/login).
4. Working from Easyblog/Komento (http://rentalcarreviews.com/news/sixt-car-rental-expands-in-the-us) - Login module.
5. Working from Easydiscuss (http://rentalcarreviews.com/forum/i-have-been-told-that-avis-has-a-system-called-the-wheel-to-confuse-the-client-is-it-true) - same Logbox module as on the page below.
6.NOT WORKING from com_content/JReviews pages (http://rentalcarreviews.com/spain/alicante/goldcar-car-rental-alicante-el-altet-airport-alc-spain) - same Logbox module as on the page above.

I am almost certain that it has something to do with the code in the JReviews file that I have the module embedded in which is not your problem - particularly since the same module works fine on Easydiscuss pages and the Toolbar module works on the JReviews page....... I will work it out.

Did you get a chance to check the Profile select option from Facebook registration issue or the map in the backend by and chance?

Thanks again for your help. David

Hi - just following up on this.

I can't work out for the life of me why the logbox module Login button is throwing a 404. I have changed it for now back to the Login module since it works but would far prefer to have the Logbox option instead if we can work out what the problem is.

Also, when there is a default Profile and other profiles are set to NOT SHOW during registration, when going through the regular registration process using Facebook, how can I skip the http://rentalcarreviews.com/community/registration/selectProfile/facebook page? I don't want users to have an option or even to see the other options, just register under the default profile.

The user map in backend Dashboard still shows only the non-default profile users, not the default profile.

So, 3 issues in total. Already upgraded to ES1.2.7

Thank you.

Hello David,

I am really sorry but we must have missed your post earlier. Can you please set it back to logbox as I do not want to interfere with your current site settings just in case I misconfigured some stuff. Once you can reproduce the 404 error, pass me the link to the page and I'll test this

No problem Mark - I will wait until later in the day (my time - US Eastern) since it affects almost 24,000 pages. I will set it back to the Logbox just before you guys start work and let you know once it's in place.

Thanks again,
David

Hi Mark,

I have put the Logbox module back on the pages that are throwing the error. If you need to change it to the Login module to compare, you will need to edit the file mentioned in the comments section of this post.

To be clear, first issue:

http://rentalcarreviews.com/usa/va/hertz-car-rental-arlington-vienna-tysons-corner-embassy-suites-virginia-usa - Logbox throws the error (module ID 282) however Login module works (module ID 283) and also logging in from the toolbar also works.
http://rentalcarreviews.com/forum/what-companies-are-at-oua-airport - Exactly the same Logbox works just fine - module ID 282 - in case a comparison might help.

Second issue - when there is a default Profile and other profiles are set to NOT SHOW during registration, when going through the regular registration process using Facebook, how can I skip the http://rentalcarreviews.com/community/registration/selectProfile/facebook page? I don't want users to have an option or even to see the other options, just register under the default profile.

Third issue (but not important/critical) - The user map in backend Dashboard still shows only the non-default profile users, not the default profile.

Thanks for your help,
David

No problem Mark.

Problem 1. IT WORKS!!!! What did you do? I spent 3 days trying to work this out:p

Problem 2. Still exists - when registering with Facebook you are still allowed to select a profile even though one is set as the default and the other is set to NOT SHOW during registration - should not be given as an option.

Problem 3. Map in backend dashboard - no change.

Hi Sam - tested both and both working

For Issue 2 for the next release, it would be great if http://rentalcarreviews.com/community/registration/selectProfile/facebook could be skipped entirely if only one profile is available for selection since that step would not be required. This would save a click/pageload/streamlines the registration process for users. Just a suggestion.

Anyway, very happy - thank you so much (Mark as well).

Hello David,

If the "Oauth" registration process is set to simplified and a default profile is selected in the settings, the user wouldn't need to select a profile as it would be chosen automatically. See my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/zDMW4Gv7h

Hi Mark - what change did you make to fix the login problem above?

I seem to have not the same but a similar problem on the home page. I have a quick reg module showing but it is not working for some reason.......filling in the fields and clicking on the Register Now button just does nothing.

Hello David,

To be honest, I can't really remember but looking at the post above, I believe I modified the settings as you can see from the screen shot link above.

Hi Mark - no, that screenshot was for a completely unrelated issue to do with the Facebook registration process.

I'll post the problem here as if it's new, if you would prefer for me to put it into a new post just let me know.

On my homepage http://rentalcarreviews.com I have a quick registration module that doesn't work at all. Not sure what I have done wrong here. Can someone have a look at it for me please when they have a chance.

Thanks for your help.

Hi David,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Regarding your issue, it seems like the javascript file from this module is not loaded When i check the source page, i notice the required script is not there. I not sure if your Joomla template reconstruct eh HEAD section of a page thus javascript from modules not loaded correctly? I do remember some Joomla template did reconstruct the HEAD the way the javascript file attach.

Anyway, to fix your issue, I've modified your Joomla template file 'JOOMLA/templates/jsn_mico_pro/index.php' and added below code at line 29:

<script defer async src="<?php echo JURI::root(); ?>/modules/mod_easysocial_register/scripts/script.js"></script>

Now the registration module is working fine
Please verify again.

Hope this help and have a nice day

Hi Sam/Mark,

Sorry to come back to you again on this but I have the same problem now with the Logbox module. It looks the same anyway, JS not running I think.

I looked in the folder but there is no script file there that I can see. Can you let me know what script I need to add in this instance to index.php?

Thanks a lot,
David

PS. If you need to check, the module is not responding in 3 different sections - Easydiscuss pages, Easyblog pages and com_content pages. Example pages are:

Easydiscuss: http://rentalcarreviews.com/forum/i-have-been-told-that-avis-has-a-system-called-the-wheel-to-confuse-the-client-is-it-true
Easyblog: http://rentalcarreviews.com/news/sixt-car-rental-expands-in-the-us
com_content: http://rentalcarreviews.com/usa/fl/budget-car-rental-fort-lauderdale-hollywood-international-airport-fll-florida-usa

Hi Mark,

Yes - Sams fix is in the template file and working fine for the quick reg module.

The same problem that I originally posted about right at the beginning of this thread has reappeared however - the Logbox module is unresponsive on all pages where it exists.

You (Mark) fixed this on April 10th - "I have applied some fixes on the site, can you give this a try again? " however I don't know what you actually did.

I have since upgraded twice, was on 1.2.6 at the time and now on 1.2.8 so whatever you did I think was done in core files and not in overrides so has been overwritten when upgrading.

If you can let me know what changes you make if any or what I need to do to fix the problem, I can make sure everything is in overrides and keep them updated when upgrading from now on.

Thanks for your help,
David

Hi David,

I've added a fix to your site on the logbox module by uploading a javascript to this module folder. While testing, it seems like the changes did not get updated and your site still loading the old javascript code. Is there a cache on javascript file? I actually cleared the cache from Joomla but it doesn't help. Can you help me to clear your site cache and see if the logbox module now working correctly on your site?

Please advise.

Hi Sam - apologies for the delay - I did come back here but the site was down at the time while you put this new one in.

Thanks for your help - the problem is solved. I use cloudflare so that was no doubt storing some files but I cleared it and everything works. I can see the folder you added, will I need to maintain this in overrides from now on?

Thanks again,
David

Hi David,

You are welcome. Glad to hear your issue now resolved.

The fix for this logbox module will be added into next release of EasySocial, however, the previous fix that we added into your template's index.php, you will need to maintain the code there so that the javascript file get added correctly

Hope this help and have a nice day
