Hello, I need to limit blog access by profile type ( either using XIPT - profile types or by using Joomla User Groups - not Joomla Viewing Access) I have serveral different types of registered users, some of which cannot view blogs. Can you please tell me if the current version will do that? My version 2.0.4561 will not allow this. Please help.

Joomla 2.5.11
Jomsocial 3.0.4
XIPT 4.0.0
So, its possible to do this?
Show some posts only to specific user level.
Not asking for support, only if EasyBlog has this feature.
In post permission I see that its possible to show post to all visitors, and also to only registered visitors, but no option for user level.
Also a category can be assigned to specific user level.
Regards

Hello Martin,

It is not possible to assign the user group in the post permission. But you can use the category permission to restrict user group from viewing the post. http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-12-22_1208.png

Hello Thomas,

I'm sorry but it is not possible to limit the post creation based on category. Perhaps, you can write it in our Voices page here: http://www.stackideas.com/voices/easyblog and our developers will get back to you.

Hey Martin,

You can currently configure this already in the category level as you can set which users are able to see contents from specific categories.

Thanks, thats what im doing since the begining.
But this way, all the "special" content has to be in the same category.
It would be much better to have the content on the corresponding category and "hide it" based on each article permision.

Martin,

I believe this is a pretty niche feature that not many people actually would want it. Even Joomla doesn't have such feature for their articles. If there are users who are interested in this feature, we'll definitely look into this.

Sorry I hope that you understand we do not want to bloat our code simply because only 2 - 3 users want such functionality. If this is needed, I would suggest that you hire a freelancer or contract us to customize this for you.

Thanks for understanding, appreciate it!

Sure i understand.
And of course Joomla doesnt have this functionality and many others. Otherwise EasyBlog wont have room for improvement
Can you estimate how much can cost to add this functionality? I may be interested.
