Hi

I've upgraded my site to the latest Joomla and when i enable the kunena plugin it breaks my site.

Are you aware of any issues and is there a fix for it?

I cant add site details as yet because its changing nameservers.

Thanks

Steve

Kunena Plugin - http://stackideas.com/apps/item/1-kunena

DETAILS

This plugin would add the following integrations with the Kunena extension:

1. Avatars
2. Points System
3. Activity Stream
4. Profile linking
5. Conversations
Hi,

Have you turn on the error reporting to maximum and see what the error displayed?

By the way, we really appreciate if you can provide us with backend access and FTP access so that we can inspect and debug this issue directly on your site.

Please advise.

When you disable the ES integration plugin, does the site load just fine?

Hello,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply, we might have missed your post earlier. I tried to access the FTP but unfortunately it isn't working for me here

Can you please advise? This is the screen that I am getting on the site, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-04-03_0023.png . By the way, I am sorry but I am not really sure how to reproduce this errors on the site. I tried viewing some of the forum posts randomly and there's no "blank screen" that you have mentioned.

@ John

Yes m8 - without the plugin enabled site works fine.

Sorry for my late reply, have been away from computer.

At present the Plugin is disabled as it breaks to many posts, you will have to login and turn it on, i'll check on FTP, perhaps i have it locked, i'll open it up for the week.

Thanks

Steve

I have the exact same issue still also. You can see it here. The error goes away as soon as I disable the EasySocial integrations plugin. For the most part I do not see this error, but do see it on a few topics. The really weird part is that I've changed a post as an author and suddenly the error message goes away. However this is on my test site, I'm sure on my real site people wouldn't appreciate me taking over their account.

I could be mistaken, but I think the issue happened a while back when I enabled Joomla caching (with plugin caching too). I have had it disabled for quite some time (both admin config and plugin) and have cleared it but am seeing the error message still. I may be able to figure out other details if this would help.

Yeh its weird, i dont have any cache enabled as yet so i dont think its that. I'm sure the guys on here will sort it, they are normally very good

I've tried googling it but i have no idea what to look for. Never had the issue with Joomla 2.5.

It's a niche issue, so it's not likely you will find an answer from a Google search. Yeah you'll find quite a few results now for "EasySocial", but this Kunena issue may have only been mentioned a few times.

Hello,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I have applied some fixes for you on the site, can you give this a try again?

In case anyone faces similar problems, can you download the attached file and upload it into /plugins/kunena/easysocial/ and see if you hit similar problems?

Awesome Mark, this fixed it! Will this fix be included in the next version of EasySocial? Peace of mind for Kunena integration has been restored.

I won't have internet most of this weekend, so wishing you a early Happy Easter.

Just giving a heads up that when I upgraded my test site to ES 1.3.25 it still has this issue. When I replace the file attached above, it fixes it. A few questions come to mind:

- Does the ES launcher upgrade the profile.php file?

- Was this fix included in ES 1.3.25?

Just trying to figure out why the issue existed on my test site. On my real site I am using the profile.php file attached above which is working great.

Hello Josh,

Hm, perhaps the apps are actually not updating the plugin correctly but we'll need to look into this.

@Arlex Wong
Months ago, (maybe August of 2014) I made note of the fact that there were several versions of the ES/Kunena plugin on here and linked from the JED.

And then last week before you updated this I noticed a discrepency where there was a version 1.0.1 at the download link on stackideas.com even though there had previously been a 1.0.3 version.

Now it says 1.0.3 but you are saying that you updated it. Could you please consider doing the following:
1) Make this at least 1.0.4 because there was previously a 1.0.3 of this plugin and this is confusing and creates a lot of potential for problems.
2) On the download page that you linked to it says "Submitted 20th Nov, 2013" This is fine but could you also include a date of the last update?

thank you for the consideration
Paul

I forgot that the plugin itself needs to be updated separately from ES. I suggest some day making the plugins work with Joomla's auto updater so that we don't forget to update those too. Anyways, the good news is that once I upgraded the plugin on my test site things are working as expected without needing to mod anything.
