-
ResolvedHey guys,

Just want to share this with you loyal users. We've actually just released a new component for Joomla 1.6 - 2.5. It's a comment system that allows you to enable comments on your Joomla articles
How much is this?
It's totally Free for now as in Free Beer!
Where can I find the translation files?
You can download the translation packs (Installer) via http://stackideas.com/translations.html?component=com_komento
You can read more about this at http://stackideas.com/blog/entry/new-joomla-comment-extension-komento.html
Enjoy

Wonderful product! Very needed! But I also have same need: I need to activate Komento only for some articles, not all. OK, I did read trick to add {KomentoDisable} in order to disable Komento on articles, but too much articles to manage. Possibility to choose category is priority feature, thanks! -
Hi Piero,
Yes this will be included in our next beta release, possible some time next week. -
Some news about the new beta release?

Thanks Randall! Help us test and report bugs if you found any so that we can quickly move this to the Stable phase

Greg,
We currently do not have migrators for JComments or any other comment systems yet but we'll be adding them as we move along (We already have the migration algorithm from what we learnt from EasyBlog)1 vote by n00bster

Hi Jason, I checked to today and the issue remains unchanged in IE 9 and not working. To be clear did you go in and change the typo or is there something I need to do? Cheers! -
Hi Guy,
We've further inspect the issue and it seems like there is a core issue affecting IE9 only but unfortunately we don't have a quick fix for this right now.
We are planning to release a beta2 next week, and we will include this fix in our beta2 release.
Thank you so much for your support! -
Jason,Thanks. I'm happy to be of some help. By the way I clicked the down arrow instead of the intended Up arrow to give +1. I can't undo it (: Wouldn't be great if these controls were made "childproof" :)

Actually, I am developing a custom component, and I would like to use Komento. So, how can i add Komento in my component? Ja comment and Jomcomment provides an inteegration code that i could easily put anywhere in my custom component to use those commenting systems. It would be very nice if you guys can do the same. -
Hello Yasin,
We have actually a very simple API that you can use. Take a look at /components/com_komento/external_plugins/ . You can follow the examples from one of the file here :D

Mark,
It's the weekend for you and also for me, but I wanted to remind myself to ask you some questions about Komento and the evolution factor beyond current commenting systems. I will be getting more into Komento and will contribute my feedback and suggestions to this thread starting Saturday, April 29th and will respond here soon. If it is what I think it is you are creating, then I am excited. Hope to see a natural evolution of the commenting UI and how it interacts with other components. Guess I will see starting Saturday.

Hello Randy,
Sure, Komento is just something that we have created to return to the community that supports us. Hence, it is more like giving and taking. Our main goals for Komento is to assist most Joomla site owners to easily build "communities" with their site and the development path will be of course based on user feedbacks. We are just built this way
User empowers your community, and users here empowers our products

Hello domi,
We would want to integrate Komento within Jomsocial, unfortunately it doesn't provide API for 3rd party developers to manipulate to replace or add other comment system. At most what can we do is integrate with Jomsocial's avatar/profile link and add feeds into the activity stream, which we'll include this feature in our coming beta release.
Cheers!
