Hi! I am looking for a comment system in joomla for our company blog. Now i tested the features of komento which includes a lot we where looking for. But we have actually two problems:
1. We are just using komento with no other extensions like joomsocial. Is it possible to select a profile picture for the registered users in the frontend or can guest upload a picutre? We couldnt find this.
2. Three of our company employees will work on the blog as experts. Is it possible to highlight the comments of this users?
Thx for your help and best regards.
Pacsal

Hello Pascal,

Kindly please find the response to your inquiries below:

1. We are just using komento with no other extensions like joomsocial. Is it possible to select a profile picture for the registered users in the frontend or can guest upload a picutre? We couldnt find this.

Unfortunately at this point of time, users cannot upload profile pictures. However, if you integrate with Gravatar, it will be able to pick up the user's avatar as long as they enter their email.

2. Three of our company employees will work on the blog as experts. Is it possible to highlight the comments of this users?

Not really sure what you meant by "highlight the comments of this user". Can you please elaborate more on this please?

Hey Mark!
Thanks for your help.

1. I really need this feature of a profile, pic, a history of the users comments and some information about website, and social media plugins. But not that big like easy discuss and somsocial. Can i use komento with some other extension like easy blog and just show the informations i mentioned before (pic, comments, social links, company website)?
2. I think i can use this problem with the css classes of the different joomla user-rights css whitch is included in komento (author, registred and admin). Thanks this is a great feature!

Thx and best regards. Pascal

Hello Pascal,

I'm not sure if I really understand you. But If you means the Komento Profile, we do have a simple profile for Komento as you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/0NbMVXBu46pK . But like what Mark said, Komento doesn't support uploading avatar.

Hey! Komento is now almost working as i imagined it. I disabled the links to the komento profiles in the author.php and gravatar.php for registered users and for guest users the name is linking to their website (the one in the website field). The administrators are using the gravatar profile pic. Now i have just one question left:
Is it somehow possible to change the code in the author.php that the name of an registered user is linking to a specific site((like the registered users own website or facebook profile). Actually this is just possible for guest users.

Thanks for your help and best regards
Pascal

Hello Pascal,

Sorry for the late reply.
Currently, Komento only support the profile integration with these components only: http://screencast.com/t/KUbDB2Km1j4a . And what did you mean it is just possible for guest users?

Hi Nik
Yep i know that, i actually not use the profiles anymore. Guest users have the options to write their website into the form and then their name is linking to this website. For registered users its not possible to just link to their website, just their profile. Can i change this somehow that also the registered users can link from their name to their website?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Pascal,

Please replace the attached file in: ../components/com_komento/themes/kuro/comment/item/author.php and you have to set this option to Guest and Registered Users: http://screencast.com/t/FJFnbGx6 . You have to re-create the comment with website field for Registered user so it will generate the URL in the database. Hope this helps.
