Hi,
We are having trouble with Komento cron job failing and causes a bog down in our mail queue.

Can you help me with this please?

Thank you,
Diana

Here is what our cpanel tech said:
*********************************
It appears that the following cron job is failing which is creating these error messages: /var/spool/cron/standup:*/5 * * * * /usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null "http://www.standupgirl.com/index.php?option=com_komento&task=cron";

Could you explain the function of this task to see if this may be related to the server? If not, I would recommend having your developer review this cron job to see what would be causing it to fail.

Hey Diana,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. I tried to access Komento's mail queue at the back end of your Joomla site, and it seems like there are only 3 emails there. Furthermore, they are all marked as sent.

Am I missing anything here?

I saw that too, we only have 3 messages so I am not sure why the cpanel techs say that this cron job is filling up our servers mail queue. But that is what they found causing the issue.

I gave you login for our cpanel, were you able to take a look at the cron there?

Do we really need this cron job for Komento to work properly for emails?

Also I see there is another one for captcha, is that one important too?

Hey Diana,

Hm, could you contact your web host and ask them what they mean by "filling up our servers mail queue"? Any particular message / mail?

We have a dedicated server with SingleHop and in our WHM panel for all our cpanels there is an mail manger queue. The queue is getting 1000's of root@ emails that they say is caused by the komento cron job. When the mail queue gets so full it bogs down all our emails for all our cpanel email accounts.

I don't see this cron job in the dashboard of Komento anymore, could you explain the function of this task? Sorry, I set this up so long ago and I can't remember.

Hey Diana,

I think the problem has nothing to do with Komento but rather, the way the cronjob is being setup. When you setup the cronjob, cpanel does send notification about the cronjob being executed (I guess this is where your hosting provider is complaining about) ?
