Hi Stackideas Team/ Stackideas Users

I am wondering if you could at least point me in the right direction.
I can jump to a point in time in a Vimeo video e.g.:

https://vimeo.com/153280910#t=0m7s

Which works fine if I have the video on a Vimeo Page.

But as soon as I have it on a SI page e.g. here:

http://www.finalbug.net/blog/entry/546-fcp-x-subtitles-the-missing-webinars-01

It is pretty obvious what happens.
The link takes me away from the SI page and to the Vimeo page.
To for eg second 7 of the linked video.

I have found documentation online that demonstrates that this is possible.
i.e. jump to a point in time in the embedded video.

http://codepen.io/Imperative/pen/tnigH

But am at a loss as to where to start.
Can some one maybe point me in the right direction?

eg

▾ Optimising the interface of FCPX to work with Subtitles
https://vimeo.com/153280910#t=0m7s
▾ Note where roles turn up in the Inspector and Track Index
https://vimeo.com/153280910#t=1m37s
▾ There are some pre built titles. Lower Thirds are a good starting point.
https://vimeo.com/153280910#t=3m21s

In such a way that I stay on a Stackideas page!?!

thanks

Paul
Hey Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I've read what you provided us these information at above, hm it seems like that is not easy to implement this, because you have to use Javascript to capture the video timing sync with your each video, and each video you have to set the timing and store the data in database for listing and trigger javascript purpose.

But it would be best if you can submit a feature request regarding this in our voice page -> http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog, so everyone else could vote for it, the more people request on this, and we will priority consider it.

Hey Arlex

OK that sounds kind of tricky.

I would need to have a data base with all the videos/chapter markers/keywords in it.
(I could even have subtitles in there ;-))
Have some kind of script that would look in this data base when a link/keyword was clicked/searched.
Then get the player to jump to the correct place.

I will post a request but even I can kind of grasp the complexity of this now!

I am amazed that there do not seem to be any plugins/extensions for this kind of thing.
I had a long conversation with a forum moderator at HWD Media Share.
He also told me that no one has built an off the shelf version of something like this.

thanks

Paul

ps I have created a feature request here:
