I was wondering if there were any Joomla Job site extensions that were compatible with EasySocial and if not I would like to submit a feature request for there to be one. Thanks.
Someone actually contacted us in our helpdesk to work with 3rd party extensions like Joombah. I will try to get in touch with Joombah and see if we can collaborate

I was actually looking for something similar. It looks like Joombah may not be updating their component for Joomla 3.x, based on the latest review on JED. Joombah's site hasn't updated any announcements for almost a year. Too bad since it gets great reviews from users.

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately no, although I've been looking at the EasyDiscuss demo to see if it's possible to set up a job board of sorts!

I've tried EasyJobs. I haven't used the one Mark mentions but I do like EasyJobs ability to add fields (looking forward to mapping/leveraging EasySocial profile fields.) I'm eager to jump on whichever Jobs component works with EasySocial. Toward that end, Mark, I'm eager to see what happens please keep us updated here so I know which direction to go.

Interesting name, haha. "EasySocial is now compatible with EasyJobs" . Wow, it's a little pricey though.

I like JReviews because it is extremely flexible, you can manage multiple directories, in my case both Jobs and Resumes and because of the Reviews Of Me Plugin for EasySocial you can make a third directory to write Recommendations of people. It is fully integrated with EasySocial as well, a set of (4) apps if you have the everywhere addon. It offers GeoMap support and also Paid Listings so you can charge companies to post jobs and let them manage them.

Also, everything is scalable, from the media that is upload to the ACL controls. The options are limitless.

I'm with @James on this one (and I'm not Alejandro's spokesperson).

EasyJobs price tag seems unrealistic compared to JReviews (or Joombah).

I'm using JReviews for 7 years now... when it comes to directories, classifieds etc. there's nothing comes close to this CCK (maybe a little more work but it'll do exactly what you need...extremely customizable).

I agree with the two above statements.

Also, to note support around the Joomla! community has always been an issue. We however have some companies who do this well, StackIdeas, NoNumber, as well as a few others. I will say Alejandro and the group at ReviewsForJoomla.com (JReviews) are on the same playing field as the folks here at StackIdeas. Great team, great support.

@James can you share a link to your JReviews-based implementation of jobs/resumes? @Mark can you share the 'really cool' idea? I'd like to learn more what's brewing so I make the best investment in time/money in a component for handling paid jobs postings in the EasySocial "ecosystem". Thanks

Hi Justin,

I am working with Joombah (on Joomla 3x) and so far so good (maybe they just never got round to updating JED when you last looked?

I too am looking for it to be integrated with EasySocial. I did look at EasyJobs but it wasn't for me.

I was originally using Joomlart's JA Job Board with Jomsocial, but since I am no longer using Jomsocial (as EasySocial has more of the functionality I need|) and Joomlart are not interested in developing a Joomla 3 compatible version until at least Joomla 3.5x is released I had no choice but to seek an alternative. Joomlart are stuck on 2.5 and the Job Board isn't responsive either. A shame, as it had some really good features, but was let down by slow (or no development).

Are there any plans to integrate Joombah with EasySocial?

Do you think it's possible to have multiple directories on the same site with Joombah - one for jobs and one set up more for classifieds?

Thanks.

Good to know Mel. I was debating using SobiPro for classifieds and jobs, but the project seems so scattered to me (and I've been using it for years).

Hi Justin,

I have also tried SobiPro and felt a bit the same (too scattered and not quite there - for me). If you just want a classified with the ability to add jobs then most of the classifieds will do that. I needed a specialist jobsboard (a little more than a classifieds listing) with all the features of an enterprise jobs board. I have tried so many - but with mixed results. Joombah is the closest I have got to the ideal solution for me.

Any movement on this integration idea? Ideally I would vote for Jreviews as I need both job board and product review abilities, but even Joombah would be welcome. Just wondering if this is still on the table before I commit to one of those extensions.

Hello Mark,

Sometime ago I looked for a jobs board extension- but couldn't find a satisfying one except JoomCareer. It might not be perfect or great, but simple yet. Developer's approach was also good. I liked my interaction with him. He had quickly and positively reacted to my feature request. So maybe you can consider an integration between EasySocial and JoomCareer.

Best regards,

Zafer

These would be my priorities:

Activity streams for job seekers and employers - new jobs, jobs apply.
Notification for job seekers and employers - new jobs, job apply. job status change.
Apps for job seekers: applied jobs and resume
App for employers: listed jobs

Hey guys,

I have been examining most of the codes on JS Jobs and unfortunately it looks like there's no way to hook into their saving process as their extension doesn't perform any triggers at all and there's no way to generate an activity stream when a new company, job postings, job application is created on the site

What is possible however is listing the available job by specific company and listing of applications submitted by the user.

On our website we just connect people (recruiters and job seekers), candidatures are sent directly to recruiters via emails, officiel websites etc.

On jreviews to allow the members sending their resumes you need to add a file based custom field

do not hesitate to post a question on the official support forum of jreviews.
