Just curious if there has been any testing yet with EasySocial and Joomla 3.3 yet as it is scheduled for stable release in a week and currently at beta 3.
Today, April 25, 2014 the Joomla Project Team released Joomla 3.3 Release Candidate. I think it is slated for final release on April 30th.

http://www.joomla.org/announcements/release-news/5544-joomla-3-3-rc-released.html

Mark had said their extensions will be compatible. But obvious there are new features of J 3.3 that can be taken advantage of, especially the Cloud Storage API.

This version of Joomla is supposed to offer site speed increase benefits.

Some info on the JRouter stuff in J3.3
More info here: http://community.joomla.org/blogs/community/1821-its-amazing-how-easy-it-is-to-do-more-with-joomla-33.html

Joomla! 3.3 - Perform Better ...
The Joomla! 3.3 Release has bundled in an awesome kicker for all website owners: 3.3 will boost your performance by 10% or more and make that elusive “search engine love” even easier.

There's been code brewing for a complete overhaul of the JRouter for a while. The JRouter is the traffic director for Joomla, the router for all page rendering, URLs, etc. The 3.3 release contains the first implementation of this new router. Testing has shown a 10% increase in website speed, and over 2.5 seconds faster page load times. This is a huge performance boost and if you follow other speed boosting best practices you will see more conversions and better SEO results - helping you Do More with Joomla!

I just downloaded the RC to take a look.

Hi Randall,

Thanks for the heads up.
To be frank, we haven't test running EasySocial with Joomla 3.3. RC

Sam,

I just created a test site at calgary.chambervoice.com to test ES 1.2.8 with Joomla 3.3 RC 1 and it seems to work flawlessly so far. I haven't got everything set up like cronjpbs etc, to test it properly, but so far it seems to work just fine - no issues found as of this time.

You can log into http://calgary.chambervoice.com/ with my test account to see it works fine.

Hey guys,

I am currently running my development on Joomla 3.3 and never noticed any noticeable issue so far. It seems to be working fine as Randall reported

Mark,

So far no issues n my j3.3 RC 1 test site. I am waiting to update my main site when the final is released. I like Joomla 3.3 a lot. Lots of nice refinements.

The Cloud Storage API features will be a huge asset to developers. I'm using Slack.com to see what it does best and it syncs with Dropbox and Google Docs.

I sure hope future versions ES, EB, and ED take advantage of the new APIs in J3.3?

Thanks for the heads up on this Randall I am not too sure if we are going to use any of the APIs provided in Joomla 3.3 because if we do that, users who are on Joomla 2.5 would be having a hard time. We probably need to centralize this and perhaps utilize our own libraries.

Joomla 2.5 support ends at the end of this year. So if it helps the situation, maybe next year the APIs could be used.

You also need to think about users who are on 3.x but not on 3.3 This is a really trick process

Does centralize this mean that Cloud Storage features for providers other than Amazon S3 are planned to be implemented, and the other benefits of what j3.3 provides?

The Joomla Development and Marketing teams are really pushing for people to update their sites when J3.3 comes out. Joomla will be at version 3.5 or 3.6 by the end of 2014.

It's a beautiful day here and I have to put my site development on hold for a few hours and take advantage of this weather to rollerblade today. It snowed yesterday. Time to look at moving to a warmer location.

I wish it was colder where I live. It is very common for it to rain at 0 degrees C! It's been only a week and I already miss the snow. Lucky we have mountains.
