Hey, I've been trying to get the facebook sign in feature to work, but have been having trouble. I followed the documentation and got the App ID and APP Secret. I also put the App domain as the website and the site URL as the website with "http://www", but when I try to sign in with Facebook I get this error:

"There is an error retrieving your Facebook details. Facebook returns an error message of: "This IP can't make requests for that application."

I also attached an image of what the error looks like.

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your time!
Issue resolved!

Hello,

We succeed to solve IPv6 communication issue. According to our test API queries to Facebook services are working fine. Please check this on your end and in case of further troubles please let us know. Thank you.

Hello Tony,

Based on the error message, it looks like for some reasons Facebook is disallowing your IP address from using this application. Did you add any restrictions on your Facebook app that you have created?

Hi Mark,

I am experiencing the same exact issue.
I haven't changed anything since I first setup facebook, and it was working back then.

Facebook logins are not working for me also. But there's no error message. In fact, clicking on the button has no obvious result at all.

Facebook logins were working fine for me earlier today. I just upgraded EasySocial and EasyDiscuss. Maybe this broke something?

Did you guys set the app to be mobile or anything like that? I noticed that there's sign on error shown at https://developers.facebook.com/status/ for mobile apps. Not sure if it is related.

Also, is your app set as development or live?

I did install JFBC and uninstall it.
I see it in this field:
Do you know if this field should have an entry or not?

I put my website's IP address in the "Server IP white list" under the Facebook app's advanced settings to see if it would help which is actually what ended up getting me that first error message. When I didn't have the IP put in the "Server IP white list" I got this error message:

"There is an error retrieving your Facebook details. Facebook returns an error message of: "An active access token must be used to query information about the current user."

Any ideas on what I should do?

Hello checksum,

Hm, yeah this is weird. Can you try with a new app, and see if that works? I am wondering why some of you hit the same issue at the same time. If it was a configuration issue, it wouldn't be a coincident and my local would work too. Unless some of you are on the same hosting provider?

Hello checksum,

Oh, just try to create another app for testing purposes only. I want to see if the error is caused by the app or the server's ip address.

I made a new app and tried it but now I get another mini window that opens up to the EasySocial page and I get this error:

"There is an error retrieving your Facebook details. Facebook returns an error message of: "(#5) Unauthorized source IP address"

I just realized that not only is the FB login broken, but also all of the back-end toggle buttons for EasySocial don't work.

I went into EasySocial System Settings and selected System Environment / Development and now both the FB Login and ES toggle buttons are working again.

Seems suspicious that both these issues occurred after I upgraded EasySocial.

Hello checksum,

I believe either your server's ip address or domain is blocked somehow. I tried using the same app settings and changed the domain to my local, and it works perfectly fine

Hello Tony,

Which host are you on? I noticed that you both are on the same Cloudaccess server. In fact, both of you are on the same IP Address block 199.116.77.*

I'm also using cloudaccess as my host. Is Cloudaccess blocked from Facebook for some reason? Is there anything we can do about it?

I would suggest that you guys contact CloudAccess and get them to get in touch with Facebook because when I tested this the same app that I have created with checksum's account, it worked fine on other sites and my local as well. Coincidentally, both your sites are on CloudAccess too.

Hi Mark,
Correct, looks like the issue was on CloudAccess side.
Sorry about wasting your time....

Thanks for helping us, Mark! If it weren't for your help we wouldn't have known the issue was from Cloudaccess!

And thanks, checksum!

Thanks for updating checksum, appreciate your help on this too. At least I can sleep soundly tonight knowing that our Facebook authentication doesn't cause any sites to get banned (I was albeit worried that the Facebook connect process is causing the server to get banned)

Hello Stackideas team,

I have the same issue: "There is an error retrieving your Facebook details. Facebook returns an error message of: "An active access token must be used to query information about the current user."

Site backend and fb app details have been enclosed in the site details.

Thanks in advance for your kind help.
