So I am running Easysocial, Easyblog and Kunena on my discussion site, and got the usual security update notice from Joomla as being critical and ONLY affecting the security patch and went ahead and updated. At least on my site and some other, a really big mistake.
Review this thread before you move ahead and then test the patch on a demo site!

There is apparently an issue with earlier versions of PHP so depending on what your server is running, it may be less critical. I am not an expert by any means, but the patch made it impossible for anyone to log into the front or admin panel at all. Not even super user. The fix listed in there is certainly not optimal, but seems to work. Your mileage may vary.
Just wanting to pass on the information in case any of you have the same problem. I looked for almost 24 hours before this fix was posted online.
