Hi Team,

I would like to report a problem, for modifying the EasyBlog Category's author/ owner from the backend.

When I client the [+ Browse] button (see attached image), I expect to see a popup and maybe some JS will deal with the page and update the owner; however, when I try to do so (using the latest EasyBlog 3.9.15370 - latest), it just simply load the whole page (original list disappeared) and clicking any name on the list generate a JS error message (via Chrome inspector).

Since I am using the default Joomla's backend theme and I didn't do and JQuery overriding, I expect this could be the program error. I can see it try to define the button as "Class=modal" but I don't see any JS/CSS defining this from that particular page (Bootstrap not loaded for that page?). The same is happening with both NEW or MODIFY action for category.

FYI, I am using Joomla 3.2.3, PHP 5.4.27, EB 3.9.15370, with a default joomla backend theme.

Please advise if this is my isolated or a bug with the latest EB version. Thanks.

Best regards,
Alfred / Dreamonde
Hello Alfred,

You're welcome, you can download my attachment file below and replace in your this file

//Replace with

<a class="modal-button modal button btn btn-primary" rel="{handler:'iframe',size:{x:800,y:375}}" href="index.php?option=com_easyblog&view=users&tmpl=component&browse=1&browsefunction=insertUser">

Hope this help.

Hello Alfred,

Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi Mark,

I guess this is some kind of JS conflict which make the modal script not working. However, I confirm modal in my site back-end is working probably - by going to Extensions> Template Manager> click "isis - Default" > Advanced > Logo [Select]. Modal box working probably by using Joomla's internal modal box.

Please advise if this is 1.2.8 issue or my isolated issue?

p.s. anyway I can tweak it manually by using Google Inspector by changing the user ID directly in the HTML, since this is only a backend issue.

Thanks

Best regards,
Alfred

Hi Arlex,

Thanks for your kind offer. Actually my another issue "(REPOST) Inline display of EasyBlog article image inside EasySocial, guess sitebase URL problem." is more important as it affects front-end experience directly. If you have additional resources, you may also goto my online-UAT site to have a look or investigate ... both issues are also carry on the UAT site. (site details in the other post)

I know this category author "popup" issue is due to js conflict (modal box, fancy box, etc.), but actually I can live with it since it only affects back-end, and I will not create category so often.

p.s. May I ask your help also to "have a peek" and see if anyone is checking my "REPOST" issue? this is quite urgent.. as I need to do some scheduling for site upgrade.

Thanks ahead ^.^

Hi Alrex,

Thanks a lot for your kind assistance. May I know anything you have done to resolve this? Since I need to replicate your modification in the production environment and to note down how to avoid same issue in future or any later release. Thanks.

Best regards,
Alfred

Hi Arlex,

May I know this is some sort of compatibility issue of my site or you will also include this as a fix in next EasyBlog version?

Please advise and thanks.
