I have the same problem again. Your product is visually appealing, but it has many technical problems, begin to believe that I was wrong purchase.

The problem said it was JCH optimize, but I have this plugin enabled
Hello jason,

You have enabled conservative caching and this is probably causing the system to cache the tokens as well. I have disabled this temporarily, please play around and see if you are hitting this. Again, this is not an issue with EasySocial, since you have extensively cache the site, you will hit the same problem with any extension even with Joomla's login module

Mark'm using the login module on the home page.
The problem persists without cache enabled, I have 900 registered users and this is only for my problems. Sorry to be angry, but I can not be every day seeking help to you.

Hello Jason,

No worries, we are also interested to find out what is the real issue I have made some updates on your Joomla Global Configuration, can you see if this still happens? By the way, does your hosting provider cache anything on the site?

Hello Mark
I have the same problem, I can go to the web one day, but the next day will not let me, puts me, Invalid Token.
I enabled the Joomla cache just before updating this just happened to me with JCH optimze, but I went with Joomla cache.
I have observed that there is no movement on my website these days, and it's because people can not access my site. This did not happen with me Jomsocial. That solution will take?

Jason, does this problem only happen when cache is enabled? We need to know if caching is the problem.

Hello Jason,

Can you try disabling every cache and leave it as it is for a day and see if you are able to reproduce this error?

Alright, we are going to have to go into detective mode. What web browser are you using? (firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, ect) What version of the browser are you using? What version of Joomla are you using? Have you tried clearing the cookie for your site? Did you make sure your plugin cache was also disabled?

Have you tried using a non ES login module? Or disabling ES temporarily to see if it really is ES causing the issue? Does the issue only happen when you try logging in the first time, or does it do this when you are logged in and return?

Please answer as many of these questions as you can, this will help with figuring out the source of the problem. I'm not a staff member of stackideas, just a passionate user.

Hello Jason,

Yeah, could you try with a normal login module in Joomla? I am quite puzzled that you are able to hit this Invalid token issue so soon

I used to have this invalid token issue months ago with ES, but have not seen it in a long time (I assume something was patched). But then again it could have been a Joomla update or a browser update. Quite a few things have changed since then.

Josh,

The only reason that could cause "Invalid token" errors is when,

1. Joomla generates a token for you

2. After x amount of time, your token expires

3. You try to login without refresh the page first (to regenerate a new token for yourself)

or

3. There's some super extreme caching mechanism that caches the content of the page and Joomla's System - Cache plugin is not activated (This plugin does some search / replacing of tokens)

Hope you mean Joomla 3.3.0.

Anyways, great that we are certain that it's the system cache. Mark, any ideas on how to work with ES and the system cache?

Hm, sorry but I might be a little lost here. Do you mean your issue is resolved after you turned off System Cache?

Hello Jason,

Can you clear all your browsers cache and try it again? I cannot reproduce on your site so I really don't have any idea what is going on. Anyway I have disabled some suspected plugins just to make sure and also re-configured the session live time. Please try this again.

Remember to clear your browser's cache first.

Hello Jason,

I think the problematic codes is either the "jotMarker" or "System - Cache" plugin. I have turned both of these plugins off and it seems to work for you now? Hm, the issue with "System - Cache" is that if you are using Chrome (especially), Joomla will force the browser to cache the contents on the browser itself. I am not sure if this is directly / indirectly related to this issue but try enabling system - cache and turn off this option http://screencast.com/t/8MNW62vV

Hello Jason,

Try to take this one step at a time and try to only publish the System - Cache without the browser cache and see how this goes.

Hi Mark
I get exactly the same issue of 'Invalid Token' message for my users when JCH Optimize 'Pro' has been enabled with the following settings:
1. System Cache - On + Browser Cache - On.
2. Cache Settings in Global Config - Conservative + 30 minutes
3. JCH Optimized Pro enabled

However when I disable to 'JCH Optimized Pro' then this problem do not come any more. But then the website page-loading speed goes down (which was increased using JCH Optimize).

What can I do to resolve this issue in order to JCH Optimize?

Regards
Kabeer

Hello Kabeer,

To be honest, I don't think this issue has anything to do with EasySocial but it's these extensive cache engines which caches the contents of the page. I don't have any work around for you right now unfortunately

Hello Mark
Thanks for replying. Through some trial and error I have discovered that it is the System Cache that's the root cause of the 'Invalid Token' issue. I have disabled it now and using JotCache with Global Config Cache (with Conservative Caching).

I am still playing around with JotCache and will let you know my findings.

Regards
Kabeer

Thanks for sharing this Kabeer! I didn't know that the "System - Cache" would cause such issues.
