I am getting an error message that states "Invalid reCAPTCHA response" when trying to reply to a previous comment as a registered user. I am wondering how I am supposed to get the secret key in. I was using the older reCAPTCHA before and wonder if this is because of the new reCAPTCHA.

Here is the page I was just trying to add a comment to:

http://www.drcarney.com/topics/item/201-genetics-and-lowering-cholesterol

I would sure love some guidance on this one if you know how to make it work again.

Thank you, Sean Carney
Hi Sean,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. I just tried to posted a comment using komento on your site as a guest and also as registered user but it seems like everything is working fine without invalid captcha response error message. Check my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/AnQWLYYVZPbk . Am I missing something here?

Thank you very much Ezrul,

I am seeing that yours seems to have worked just fine. I just tried again myself and it failed again with the same error message.

I am wondering if you added your comment to an EasyBlog or to a K2 Article?

I added mine to a K2 Article. I did not see your comment in the backend so assume maybe you deleted it after testing?

Thank you, Sean Carney

I see that you added your comment to an EasyBlog article and I tried to add mine to a K2 article. So, the problem must be with K2 and the new Recaptcha. I guess I will have to go there to see if they have any advice for me.

Hello Sean,

Sure, keep us updated then. I've tested Komento integrated with K2 in our test site, the recaptcha is working fine.

Hello Nik,

I intended to come back yesterday and post what I have found which is that The new reCAPTCHA version 2 will not work with K2 Version 2.6.9. It is something the K2 people are aware of but are apparently not interested in fixing. They intend to have reCAPTCHA version 2 working in K2 version 3 whenever K2 version 3 is released. I have not been able to figure out how to roll my site back to using the older reCAPTCHA version.

But, this experience is souring me on K2 which I have used for years. So, I am wondering if it is possible to support multiple column layouts in EasyBlog or if it will be in the future. (If you can't do it the ZenTools2 module from JoomlaBamboo should be able to do it with your content soon)

I also wonder if you have ever considered creating, or maybe you already have one, an importer that would import K2 content and convert it to EasyBlog?

Hey Sean,

I have applied some fixes on Komento so that recaptcha would work fine when Komento attaches the recaptcha form on the page. Can you give this a try again?

This issue only persists when there is another recaptcha form on the page and I suspect that K2 is also generating a recaptcha on the page.

Wow Mark,

Thank you for doing this. I am SO impressed that you are trying to help with this. I believe it is a K2 problem that they are aware of where reCAPTCA does not work with K2 2.6.9 (their latest version). And, yet.... you fixed it!!!! Once again StackIdeas is provides the best support out there of any Joomla component company!

You are most welcome Sean By the way, if it's not too much to ask for, could you also write a review for Komento at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/contacts-and-feedback/articles-comments/komento ? More people should be aware of Komento

Hi there. I have exactly this problem...I cannot use captcha in joomla article (I have no K2 installed on this site). How did you fix it finally? Thx in advance.

Hello Dusan,

Can you create a new forum post with your access details? Because you might have a different cause even the issue is the same.
