Hi Saskia Wanders,

I am sorry for the late reply for this. I have tried to install EasyBlog on your site, and it seems it hit error Internal Server Error. Refer this screenshot : http://screencast.com/t/enKr01De3m . This likely related to the .htaccess file. Try to deactivate this file by renaming it to htaccess.txt. Or if you have done any changes in this file you can try to use the old (default) version.
Here is some probably caused the problem and how to fix this problem:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=239425
Kindly get back to us if the issue still persist on your site and we will assist you accordingly.

By the way,Is it possible for you to provide us with the FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hi, we altered the .htaccess file. Also changed every folder that easyblog uses to CHMOD 775.

We used the installer for Easyblog together with the component, to manually install. This because the automated download with api key was not going further than 0%.

I also adjusted the php execution time to 600 seconds and the session time to 1000 seconds.

Still the installation proces crashed. I took a look at the error log files and got this message: [Sat Mar 12 14:16:08 2016] [error] [client 82.72.151.76] [host studiowoongeluk.nl] Error sending request(POST /administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog&ajax=1&controller=install&task=copy HTTP/1.1); uri(/administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog&ajax=1&controller=install&task=copy) content-length(219) (lsphp is killed?): ReceiveLSHeader: nothing to read from backend socket, referer: http://studiowoongeluk.nl/administrator/index.php?option=com_easyblog

I hope that you can help us.

Hey Saskia,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to edit your post above to include the FTP access?

I am suspecting that this could be due to the server being too slow to copy files. As there are quite a number of files to be copied from the installation folder to your Joomla site. This is often the cause of errors when you hit the file copying error.

Will try to perform the installation and check what is the cause of the error.

Hey there,

It seems like this time installation issue also hitting the same issue as what my colleague elaborated at above.

Can you consult with your webhosting provider to help you increase these following PHP value from your server?
max_execution_time 500
post_max_size 128M
upload_max_filesize 128M
max_input_time 500

Once your Webhosting provider is done, you can try download the full installer from your dashboard and upload through in your Joomla installer then select second option (install via directory) method and see how it goes.

The installer will not load the full package. (No message that the installation is done.)

The settings are increased and this doesn't help. (see attachement for current settings.)

Even when I upload the file manually trough the file manager my webhost provides, is still will not complete the whole installation.

The complications I'm experiencing with the installation and keeping the extension up to date are troubeling me. Because I'm starting a business for which my blog will be very important. Till now this is not really been reliable.

I want give it one more try, if you can provide me with an sollution. Else I have to find another blog extension to use for my business.

Kind regards,

Saskia

You are hitting these issues with the installation is simply because the file copying process on your site is extremely slow that the PHP script timed out before the files could even be copied over.

You need to contact your web host to check why are the scripts timing out exactly at 31 - 32 seconds despite the php's max_execution_time being set to a high value.

Temporarily, the only way for me to upgrade your site, is to hack the setup script to stop copying the site files and manually upload them via ftp.

You can actually access http://site.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_admin&view=sysinfo and click on the PHP Info tab to see the max_execution_time
