In need of help - Odd link behaviour in Easysocial

This is going to be tough to explain in words but i will do my best.

Events
Go here - http://revs-simracing.co.uk/index.php/homepage-events
In the left hand column of the easysocial component, not my sidebar, you have "Event Category" If i click on "rFactor2" it then lists all the event in that particular category.

Now go here - http://revs-simracing.co.uk/index.php/simracing-online/rfactor-2
In the menu bar under the banner pic you will see "events", click it.

It shows "Random Events" - Why? can this item be edited?
It shows "Random Albums" - Why? Can this also be edited?
It shows "Random Guest" - Why random?

Under "Recent Updates" it lists who's been doing what. This is fine but it should give me what events are in the "rfactor2 events category" because thats what the menu item is set for. Why is it listing recent updates?

Past Event
I have discussed this with you before but the fix you did does not work.
When i click "Past Events" it should list the last event thats just been, not the first ever event that we did, it takes ages to go through the list to get to the last one - this really needs to be sorted and have the option to do so.

Calendar
Where is the calendar module? You cant have an event program that hasnt got a calendar that list all the events or have i missed something?

Custom Fields
There really should be the option to have a custom field that only people who have registered for an event can see - why should i have to ask for a quote to have one written and pay extra?

Search
The search doesnt seem to work properly and doesnt find members etc. Type steve and see.

JV Directory Links
Under Application on dashboard screen JV Directory Link is entitled - APP_JVLD_USER_TITLE - How do i rename this?

Events

This is actually the "event category" view and it's different than filtering by events when you are on the "event listings" page. Think of it as this is the permalink to the event category page that describes what this event category is all about. These cannot be turned off via a settings but you can certainly modify the theme files in /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/events/category.php to remove those items that you do not want

To be honest, I am not really sure whom have you discussed with but we have a team of support moderators working on this. Do you have the link to the post that you are referring to?

We do not have a calendar module but we do have the calendar app on your dashboard which lists down events that you are participating in.

I am sorry but currently EasySocial does not have such functionality. Probably you should submit your feature requests at http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial and we'll consider this in the future.

Search

The search in the toolbar relies on the Smart Search (finder) in Joomla. I believe there has been some issues with the "finder" not being able to index users but a simple purge and re-index would automatically sync the users again

If you try to search for "steve" now, you'll see the results.

JV Directory Links
Under Application on dashboard screen JV Directory Link is entitled - APP_JVLD_USER_TITLE - How do i rename this?

Hm, is this app created by you or a 3rd party vendor? The app should add the following in their app's language file, /language/en-GB/en-GB.plg_app_user_jvld.ini



APP_JVLD_USER_TITLE="Some custom title"

As you can see it lists the first event we did - sept 16, this really need to list in reverse order or be sortable.

Calendar

I know about the Calendar in easysocial but it cant be used as a main calendar for all events, which is a shame. I've contacted a few companies that make calendars for Joomla to see if they are going to make one for easy social but you should really have your own if you see what i mean - Events need a calendar.

Search - Thanks for info

I'll check to pages to see what i can do about edit, thanks for supplying which files to check

I look forward to future updates of Easysocial and hope some of the above can be added.

In the next release, past events would be sorted by descending order. As for the calendar module, we'll try to add this in 1.4
