Hi, I just installed the latest Easyblog on my server and I'm trying to play with it and I have two "little" requests which would gladly enhance the UX for bloggers.

1/ When you're in back-end, Users may have the rights to browse all users to add an image in a blog post. And that's great! I was one of those asking for this!

However, if your site has a few hundreds (or more) members, it becomes a nightmare to get to the right one (especially if you don't understand how users are sorted on the list).

It would be great if you could look up for a person, just as you do when you want to change or add an author of the group!

2/ Adding album is great. Adding EasySocial images is great. What would really be awesome is being able to add an EasySocial Album in your blog post. Whether it's one of yours or one of the users whose album you're entitled to access!

(this works with thumbnails too! )
Hey Sebastien,

Thanks for the heads up on this, appreciate it very much. Perhaps a "search box" would make sense in the user's listing for media manager. Will log this into our issue tracker for 5.1

As for adding an album as a gallery, I will add this into the issue tracker for 5.1 as well Seems like a nifty feature! I was also thinking of adding a feature called "Re-blog" which adds a re-blog functionality of a user's activity stream and album too.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply. Glad you like my ideas, let me keep up, then!
BTW, re-blog is a great idea too.

So, for more feature requests:

1/ I see some modules use the legacy mode "if no cover, find the post and use the 1st found image". Couldn't you use this in an admin script so admin could choose to parse all the posts with no cover, find the 1st image used in each, copy it and use it as cover ? Would be so helpful!

2/ As for album, in fact, it would be real nice to be able to add other items from EasySocial too. I mean, let's say you write a blog post about a great music band and then you're like "and if you like it, you can join us, we created a group where we speak about it" and then insert the blog with group cover, group name, member counts… you see the picture. Same thing to add an overview of an event, even a profile (of course, I guess privacy would need to be considered). Great way to add CTA in the blog posts.

3/ of course, it's not there yet. But I mean video too, when ES1.4 is available!

I think this would be a great way to promote both products by making them communicate and make users (and webmasters) wanting to use both

Hey Sebastien,

Thanks for the heads up on this, perhaps you could continue adding them at http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog and http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial respectively?

By the way, why don't you renew your subscriptions

Hey,

I'm a little tight these months, since I've just had a baby, and all of this is only a hobby for me, so I will renew ES when new version is out and I'll be ready to migrate to the new version of my website!

Can't afford too much, I'm about to drop JReviews which is really great, but I don't think I still want to use my spare time creating listings, I'd rather create more creative content.
