Regarding your issue, you might want to use the EasySocial DropDown Menu module to achieve this.
1. Create a menu called 'custom'. Please see

2. Add menu item in this custom menu and your menu item should be a external link type. Please see
http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-11-24_1347.png . In most case, your link should be
http://www.yourdomain.com/community/friends/invite.html . If you have different menu item alias for your EasySocial, you will need to change the sef link accordingly.
3. Now, install EasySocial dropdown menu module, in the module setting, select 'Custom' menu item. Please see

You will also need to configure where you want this module to display by configuring the menu assignment and your module position.
Once the above done, you should see the module has the invite friend link. Please see
