Hello, please tell me how to preserve a deleted authorname as name in a blogpost. I dont want all leaving People to be replaced by the same one other account. Alternativly, is there a way to add an alias name as author for an blogpost as it is usual in joomla itself?

Thank you and best regards

Hi there,

Regarding your inquiry, unfortunately, it is not possible to preserve a deleted authorname as the authorname is stored in the easyblog_users table where it was linked to the Joomla's _users table, as a user deleted in Joomla the author (EasyBlog) will be deleted as well and vice versa
Maybe, you can reassign the author of the blogposts http://screencast.com/t/V1aB3dOSY4 beforehand?

Hello and thank you for you fast answer. Reassigning before deleting seems to be the only solution. So for the future i would wish a way to have an alias extra field for author, that is shown, if used to show an alias author like this is possible in Joomla. That woul be very handy, as in our case, often some groups a writing a text together and so it would be possible to have the group/class name as author.

Thank you and best regards

Hi there,

That could be a great feature if we can implement it. Maybe you can voice it out so our developers can keep track the feature request that we can implement in our incoming version.
Voice it here : http://stackideas.com/voices/easyblog

In addition information for you, if the a user is got deleted (in case you did not assign to the other user beforehand) the default author will be changed according to the setting here:
1. Click EasyBlog>Settings>System>Orphan items http://screencast.com/t/LG0QC99xE9
