Hi support

Generally, If I have many changes in my dev. environment (e.g Template changes, menu structure aso.), how do you propose to release the changes in production and still keep the production data intact (Profiles, posts aso.)?

Would you recommend to backup entire production site to dev. environment, perform the major changes in dev. environment and than copy entire dev. environment back to production? How to keep production users changes intact in meantime?

Your function to export users + data, would be perfect if they could be imported again, but this is not implemented yet as I understand?

Thanks for a great product.

Peter
Hello Peter,

Since easysocial itself contain a lot of files that are scattered almost everywhere, I think it will be better for you to freshly install easysocial into the test site that contain themeforest theme and try it out from there. If everything checks out, you can install the themeforest theme into your production site that already have easysocial components.

For extra note, if you have made some core modification either easysocial component or other component, it is advisable for you to note down every change that you have made (files and etc.) so that it will be easier for you to transfer the modification to your test/production site.

Hello Peter,

You can just directly move your development site files into the production site as long the database structure for both of them remain the same. However it is always advisable for you to perform a complete backup (core php files for your site and your database) to prevent unintended loss on your data.

Hi Ezrul,

Thanks.
Is there a way to single out the EasySocial related files and/or database, say if I would like to merge them into another joomla installation on another subdomain? I'm curious as I bought a template from themeforest and installed it on a seperate subdomain to try it out. I would then like to merge the Easy Social part from my normal development domain into the domain containing my themeforest template, before I would finally publish everything in production.

Best regards
Peter
