How do I access settings in individual themes in the new EasyBlog? For example, disable bits and pieces in blog detail view like hits, author, category etc.

Under Themes in the backend, all I can do is set a default but not go into each theme like I could in the old EB. The names are plain black text, no links.
Hello David,

We have moved the settings to Backend>Categories. The settings now is category based.

Thanks Nick. Does that mean that I have to set up preferences for every category that exists separately now or can I apply the settings globally to apply to all categories? Resetting everything one at a time is going to be a huge pain.

Hello David,

In the category "post settings" they are responsible to control the "entry" layout. For general layouts on the listings, they are now configured via the menu in Joomla. This allows you to have different types of layouts based on the menus.

For instance, on EasyBlog 3.9, you can't have 2 different menus which links to EasyBlog but one having the author name displayed and the other having the author name hidden. With EasyBlog 5, now you can

It gives you greater flexibility on controlling the layout.

Hi Nick,

I understand why you have made the change/improvement which does provide greater flexibility however I don't understand what you mean by:

"For general layouts on the listings, they are now configured via the menu in Joomla."

Does this mean there is a "general" or "default" setting area for "entry layout" somewhere and then this can be overwridden for individual categories in EB? If so, where do I adjust the "default settings"?

I'm just trying to avoid having to go through every category manually and adjust the settings for every one of them if I can.

Thanks,
David

Hello David,

There is no "general" settings for the entry layout. For entry layouts, everything is configured in the category This is only if you want to alter the settings for the entry view. Perhaps it would make sense if there's a "global" settings somewhere for entry. Will see if I can quickly add this into 5.0.14

OK - that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info Nick. Yes, it would definitely be beneficial/a big time saver if there was a "default" or "global" setup that applied to all posts unless different settings were applied to specific categories.
