How do I add permissions to a category?

I want visitors to be able to see the list of categories, but once they click to open a category, they would need to have permissions to see any discussions inside that category. So some users would be able to see inside all or multiple categories while others users would only be able to see inside one category. So basically private categories, private to even joomla registered users.

How do I set this up?

It not possible to have a permissions to see any discussions inside open category. but you can set who can view replies in that category.

So, I would then need to 'close' a category, not viewed on the category list page. How do I close a category and how do I give permisisons for users to be able to see a close category. basically I want only certain user to be given access to certain categories.

Hello John

You can give permission for certain user to access certain categories by change the setting in Components > EasyDiscuss > Categories > [click on a category you want to change] > Permission. Here is the screenshot : http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-02-27_1218.png
