Hi,

I have a question, maybe a very easy question.

How can I create a new author account in easyblog-author for a user who have already an joomla account ?

I try in the compoment-easysocial-author but I dont find any option for that.
Hello Didier,

You don't really have to do that because EasyBlog works with Joomla out of the box, the users available on Joomla would be available to EasyBlog as well.

To make a user an author, there is 2 ways:

1. Assuming that you did not make any modifications to the ACL in Joomla or EasyBlog, then just assign the user to the Author group.

2. Assuming that you made modifications to the ACL in EasyBlog for a particular Joomla user group or created a new Joomla user group, simply assign the user into that particular group

Hope this helps!

Hi,

OK, I try that. But, when I but the right group in the ACL menu, I don't have any validation option. And the option don't save the change.

I send you a screen shoot. I don't have any button on the top of the screen, I don't now if it's right ?

Bests regards
Didier

Hi Didier,
If you want to change the user's usergroup, one way of doing it is heading to Joomla's user management page: click on Users>Manage on the top left of your backend.
From there, you can search for the user you want to edit. Click on the user, then click on Assigned User Groups tab to edit the group you want the user to change to.

Hope this helps.

Hi Raymond,

I have no problem tu assign a user to a group, I have a problem, in easyblog to assign with the ACL the right group as the author group. My user who can write into a blog are all in the "blogueur" group. But I can, in the ACL easyblog option menu assign this group, I don't have any option on the top left part of the screen to do that (as you can see in the screen shot I send you)

Many thank to your help.

Hey Didier,
My apologies if I'm not understanding your issue. If you already assign the user into the "blogueur" group in Joomla's Users>Manage, you don't need to do it again in EasyBlog because Joomla and EasyBlog user group are linked together.

In the ACL section, to make sure the user group has blog writing permission, just click on the user group. It will open all the permission setting for that particular group. Then head to the Compose tab and make sure the first option is turned on(http://take.ms/NRcWt). The second option Allowed To Publish Post is for determining whether the blog post has to be approved by moderator before it's published.

If you want to prevent other user group from writing any blog post, just click on the other user group and turn off those first two options in the Compose tab.

Hi,

The problem origin is in the first ACL screen. In this screen you have a hierarchical list of all the group with a check box. My first attempt is to select the group I want to update and search for the option button who don't exist. I never imagine I can click on the group name and find a differant screen.

I think you can modifiy this ACL screen and remove the check box in a future version.

Many thanks,
Didier
