How can I change the behavior of the Search module?

Hi Team,

I would like to accomplish below items for my search module:
- Disable / enable Advance search
- limit search to specific items, and have flexibility to include/ exclude also Album's name, Photo's name, or maybe even Group's name
- Actually I would like to limit the search AJAX search to only user's real name, Group's name, Event's name (in future) only.
- I cannot search user via the AJAX search but only advance search, is it the case?

Is it possible to do with 1.2.8 or I need to wait for some future release?

Hello Alfred,

I am sorry but these are not possible currently. If you want, you need to add your own set of customizations.

Hi Mark,

No problem. Anyway, can you point me which file to have a look tweaking the search criteria? I might want to have a look myself. Also, would you mind to share also, which file I should check for constructing the URL for search result? (not sure if you remember I have a problem for getting search result -EXCEPT user profile-, others url are scrambled with duplicated joomla based folder : eg: http://www.abc.com/joomla/zh/home/joomla/zh/home , or http://www.abc.com/joomla/joomla/ with the search result)

p.s. user profile searching and URL are all correct.
