Hi,

I would like to use one of our EasyBlog categories to write specialized blogposts about the software products we're evaluating on our blog at CMSConnection.com. I would like that paragraph or two of text to have a rather different layout to distinguish it from our main article, much like current field variables (most of which I've listed here, for context):

Author
Date
Hits
Category
Title
Blogpost (content)
Rating
Comments

So, is EasyBlog extensible to turn it into a mini CCK? If so, is that a time-consuming process for me to customize and maintain?
Hello John,

Hm, I don't think customizing it would be a problem but it is do-able of course. Here's what I would think.

1. Create these custom forms in the blog editor (write layout) which is in the theme file /components/com_easyblog/themes/dashboard/system/dashboard.write.php

2. Create a content plugin which will act when EasyBlog is stored. Within this plugin, process these "POST" data and store it in your own columns

3. With the same content plugin or maybe you could hardcode this in EasyBlog theme's file to pull up those data

Hi John,
Did you manage to succeed with Marks suggestions above?
We'd be happy to pay for the code and advice on how to add a second field so we can add them as needed.

Kind regards
Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Perhaps you might want to wait for EasyBlog 4 since it has custom fields?
