Hello,

Just a quick question - there is no rush for an answer.

We have a way to display our blogs/articles in a horizontal way on our websites. (see images) Attached also is a way I would like the articles to look vertically.

I am wondering if we could make it appear vertical where it could be placed along the top of a website. I realize we could specify certain modular positions along with size and content but I have given that a go and it didn't look as great as I thought it would.

Is there a way to have the option to display the articles/blogs from right to left instead of up and down?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Rob
Hi Rob

You might be able to archive this using RokSprocket from Rockettheme. The have included EasyBlog as a content provider to it. It works very nicely with it. If I have misunderstood your question, I do apologies.

Hello,

I'm sorry to say that to display the module from horizontally on your site requires modifications on the module and a custom CSS for it, which is not covered in the support. I am not familiar with RokSproket, were you able to achieve horizontal display with it?

Thanks:)

Hello and thank you both for your answers.

What I am looking for is the functionality that the EasyBlog module "mod_easyblogmostpopularpost" has but in a vertical (left to right) display instead of a up and down display.

Something that I could have going across the top of my webpage instead of down.

Please see techlick.com and you will see the Popular TechLicks module (as seen in the images I posted). What I want to know is if I could display that module across the top. I hope this helps.

I will look at RokSprocket from Rockettheme and see what I could do but I was hoping that EasyBlog could somehow do this on its own.

Regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

I already inspected you site and I think it is do able to make the display horizontally by using minimal CSS tweaks and module positioning. It should be easy.

As for now, can you share with us your FTP & Site Access so that we can help you for the customization?

Please advice, thank you

The site is broke can you fix it immediately. The CSS you implemented is blowing up the showcase module. Please try to fix it - the 500 errors are due to a server transition that my server company says is going on.

Please try to either fix this today or leave the site as is. Thank you.

Could stackideas come up with a module implementation that could do this sort of left to right display? For future versions.

Hi Rob,

Sorry for this delayed reply, I already read your ticket and working on your site now.

I only updated this file, you can see my CSS hack at the bottom of this CSS file: /templates/rt_chapelco/css/rt_chapelco-custom.css

I believe that its best if you only have 5 article in vertical way instead of 8 as the title text will be more readable.

Please advice, thank you.

Hi Ikram,

Thank you for your immediate help. A list of questions/suggestions:

1. I am trying to change just the font size in that area you created to font-size: 12px; but it changes the font size on my side modules also. Do you have any recommendations?

2. Is there any chance we could see this as a module for EasyBlog? Also how could I change the articles on a daily basis as in rotating popular or new articles.

3. Could there be a IF AND OR variable that could be wrote that would randomly select articles based on their popularity. Example: If hits are >50 then randomized articles?

It would be great if we could implement this just like the other modules that display articles.

Thank you for your time and code help it is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Rob

I just tried to publish the module to the sidebar see image. It seems the coding actually will not allow the Most Popular module to be published to the side.

What I was asking is if the side modules stay the same but if there was a chance to have a module that could also display articles from left to right.

Thank you again for your time.

Hello Rob,

If you would want to put the same module do display in the sidebar please remove the Module Class Suffix in the Advance section in the module. The suffix is what controls the layout to be horizontal.

Thanks:)
