Hi guys

we have a big usability issue.

Our users always post outside the groups they mean to post in.

How can we prevent users from posting outside groups?

Is there any notification or warning script we can add?

Hey Edwin,

I don't quite get you here. What do you mean by "prevent users from posting outside groups"?

Sorry i typed very fast.

I meant our users always accidentally post outside their groups.

So they post group relevant things on the public feed area and share it with people thats not members of the group they intended to share the info with.

Of course its because they dont pay attention to what they do - but its quite frustrating needing to delete the posts each time.

Maybe theres a notification script. Something like. "You are not in a group now - you sure you want to share this post here?"

Thanks guys for the great work!!

I don't think this makes sense because what if the user really want's to post it from their dashboard?

In the way we set it up it makes sense.

They use their group 95% of the time.

So to ask when they post outside - makes sense in our case

We can't be adding these codes on our package as not everyone uses the group like you do but you can always customize the dashboard's theme file in /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/dashboard/default.php if you want to add these messages

Hi guys, we made the notification - but we cant find how to cancel the post.

Also it seems the dashboard php is for both groups, as well as public posts right?

Please let us know if we can cancel the post in case the user changed his-her mind after reading the warning.

See the image

Thanks

Hi again mark!

I reopened this ticket because our users are getting pretty annoyed by the pop up.

I think maybe the best solution is to take out the option to post from the newsfeed by deleting it from the news feed area.

That way our users have to first choose a group or a person - before they can post.

Is there a way to only delete the newsfeed "story post" option in the newsfeed?

I figured deleting this one should do right?:

<div class="es-story-body" data-story-body="">

Thanks a lot

Hey Edwin,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as I was travelling during the time you posted this and probably missed this thread. I believe you have already contacted us via our helpdesk regarding this?
