Group Cover in Stream with Unstripped Description Issues

I noticed when posting an event that its cover and description (with line breaks) displays in the stream, but with groups, only the avatar displays and the description's line breaks are stripped out. Is there a setting in the admin panel to enable the cover and maintain the line breaks for group information in streams, or is that at the coding level?
