Hello Mike,

I'm sorry but we don't have this layout in our themes. You will need to customize it.

Thank you for your response.

We are only trying to replicate the set up at: http://easyblog.stackideas.com/ and shown in the attached screenshot.

We want each blog entry to appear underneath each other in the format of the first blog post in the demo. I.e., the image thumb nail on the left and the title and summery with read more on the right.

What configuration do we need to achieve this objective?

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike Price,

Sorry for the late reply for this post, as it is a weekend for us here. You can do by setting on the backend:

1.Click Component->EasyBlog->Post http://screencast.com/t/5BSopfV7

2. Click on Featured(which blogpost do you want to set as featured post) http://screencast.com/t/02XCd6g3

It will display as you wanted.

Regards,
Fadhli

Hi Fadhil,

I think that we are making progress here but not quite there yet.

When we select http://topmediagroup.com/media-centre/blog we get the attachment blog1 - we do not want this layout.

However, when we click on the Home icon http://topmediagroup.com/media-centre/blog we get the attachment shown on blog2

This screen shows the 3 featured blog enties twice on the same page.

1. As a slideshow effect with the image on the left and the descriiption on the right

2. The 3 blog entries under each other

We want a combination of both with the 3 blog entries under each other in the format of image on the left and description on the right hand side.

How do we achieve this effect diectly from the menu with clicking the Home icon ?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. As I understand on this issue, it seems like you want to display blog home page as you clicked menu>blog?

You can setting on the backend by:

1. Click Menus>Main Menu>Blog> Set Menu Item Type as Post (FrontPage) as example :http://screencast.com/t/Ubhot0cDhT . See how it goes .

Please advise,
Thanks

Hi,

The seeting was already set to Menu Item Type as Post (FrontPage)

Show Featured Slider is causing the first screenshot that I sent you on the prevous post, we do not want this but if we disable it the page does not contain any blog items - can you see this on the website ?

As stated in the last post we need the layout to look like the blog2 screenshot without the featured slider.directly from the menu without having to select the Home icon.

How do we achieve this ?

Regards,

Mike

Hey Mike,

Let me try to understand what you want to achieve here. You want to "feature" your blog post but do not want them to be displayed in the featured slider, correct?

If that is the case, edit the menu that you have created and ensure that the option is enabled as shown here, http://screencast.com/t/Gi6L3eKk

Hi Mark,

This is the current setting. I am not really bothered about using Featured Posts or not - this was a suggestion from Mohamed.

All I am looking for is a list of the blog entries with an image thumbnail on the left and a title / summary description on the right hand side.

What is the configuation set up needed for this ?

Regards,

Mike

Hey Mike,

There isn't any settings needed to be honest. I think my colleague misunderstood your request because he thought you wanted to selectively chose which blog post to appear.

By default EasyBlog will display the blog title, intro text and the post cover if you have defined one for the blog post.

Hey Mike,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. I tried viewing http://topmediagroup.com/blog and the feature slider is showing up and it displays pretty similar to our demo site. Am I missing anything here?

Take a look at my screen shot here, http://screencast.com/t/u231PMOwfP

Hello Mark,

We want the blog entries to appear in the same format as the feature slide that you have highlighted but as one entry under another rather than in a slider format.

We have created the attatched to show what we are looking for - of course each blog post will be an individual item not repeated entries.

Regards,

Mike

Hey Mike,

I am actually a little lost here. We do not have such layouts on our demo. There is only 1 featured section if you look at our demo.

There is only one featured slider that appears on the front page blog layout and all featured blog posts will appear on the slider

Hey Mike,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is actually a public day off for us here. Can you take a look at the latest post at http://topmediagroup.com/blog and see if that is what you wanted?

You will actually need to use a post cover for your blog post, http://screencast.com/t/qFxoI0b5L

I guess the biggest problem here is that the "Post Cover" button at the top is not clear! This is something we have to address on EasyBlog 5.1 definitely!

Unfortunately we can't "generate" snapshots of the video unless we start fiddling around with ffmpeg but that is a different category altogether

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

The new set up is working good to upload blogs which contain photos and text.

I can not upload a video from Youtube anymore.

When I click new post and go to video Template the options are only to upload a video. I can´t see the option to Embed video anymore from Youtube.

How can I do this?

Regards,
Mike

I am not really sure if I understand you here. You need to click on the "Add Block" button and scroll down to insert the youtube block, http://screencast.com/t/xHnvDz1E9gqy

This is if you configured EasyBlog to use the "Composer Editor". If you do not want to use the new composer editor, you can configure EasyBlog to use the WYSIWYG editor instead under Settings > General > Composer

Hello,

I am using the Module "EasyBlog - Latest Blogs Module" to display the latest posts on the Home Page.

When I make a post with a YouTube video it doesn´t display the thumbnail in the Home Page. Is there a way to display the thumbnail?

The link to the website is: http://topmediagroup.com it is displaying the Easy Blog latest posts in: Lo Ultimo

Mike

Hey Mike,

This is actually not possible because when you add a youtube block, it's actually utilizing the rich media "embed" codes from Youtube and it's not possible to use the thumbnail.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

In the Module "EasyBlog - Latest Blogs Module" when I switch on the option: "Display all entries link"

it shows the link where we can read the rest of the Blogs.

Because the website is in Spanish now it says: "Ver todas la entradas".

Is there a way to change the text to say: "LEER MÁS NOTICIAS" ?

(It´s under Lo Ultimo) Please see the screenshot attached.

Hey Mike,

This is actually inherited from the language file. If you are using the Spanish language file, you may find it at /language/es-ES/es-ES.mod_easybloglatestpost.ini

By the way, if you have any new issue, please do start a new thread rather than replying here because this will only slow our moderators down to read through the previous issues.
