Yes, that was possible, you just need to set default from your backend > Easydiscuss > category > check my screenshot below.

But I actually DON'T want them to be able to post to a default category.

I want to force the user to SELECT a specific category before posting. So the default setting should be "Select a category" and ED should post an error message if the user does not select a category before posting.

Is this possible?

By right, if you click submit button, the system will check if you didn't select category yet, it will show a error message, check my screenshot below. May i know this error message is not show on your screen? Please advise.

The "Ask a question" page shows the default category preselected and allows me to post to that category.

Also, another thing... How can I hide the search bar on the "Ask a question page"?

Can you provide us with Joomla backend and FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

How can I can make the default "Select a category" right now it looks like Easy Discuss is requiring me to have a category selected as default? I don't see anyway of making no Default so perhaps it will bring the select category choice as the default.
