Hi,

Can't get the facebook like button to appear next to the other social buttons. I have a valid admin ID and app ID. Using joomla 2.5.28 and the latest release of easyblog.
Hello,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Is it possible for you to provide us with the back end and FTP access to your site to check on this issue?

Hello,

After debugging the site for almost the entire day, it looks like this issue is caused by SH404's plugin. For some reasons they are actually generating the fb-root tags as shown here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-03-30_0111.png and this tag actually messes up Facebook's renderer script. I have no idea how to turn this off in Sh404 and the only way I did to test this is to rename their plugin files and these codes are no longer generated.

To reproduce this, all you need to do is to rename the following 3 folders to another name and you'll notice the button appearing fine.

/plugins/system/sh404sef
/plugins/system/shlib
/plugins/system/shmobile

I have also even tried copy / pasting the codes Facebook provide on non easyblog pages and they wouldn't appear as well until I rename SH404's plugin.

Hi,

Our menu is gone and a module on the homepage. What exactly did you do during debug?

Hello,

Hm, probably the site was cached when I was trying to rename those plugin folders to find the culprit. After clearing the cache, it seems to work fine now.

Hi,

Okay, thanks it's fine now. When I turned off the sh404 social plugins the facebook button appears on the blog pages. I also had this issue as well on non easyblog pages, so hopefully they work as well. I don't use this plugin so not sure what to think about it.

Here is what Anything Digital says about it:

Hi,

I disabled the plugin "sh404SEF core - Social buttons" from the plugin manager. There is no setting in sh404 extension to turn this plugin off that I could find. It seems though that you can modify the code from instructions from Anything Digital and still use the plugin?

Hello,

To be honest we are not quite sure regarding on the modification of sh404 plugin code will solve the issue as we are not familiar with the sh404 internally. Perhaps you can try to consult with them so they can provide a proper fix regarding on this issue.

By the way thanks for the heads up
