Events showing on the event list page currently include a link to the category page...

http://www.mysite.com/events/category/8-cars

For me I would much prefer it to simply filter to events in that category using:

http://www.mysite.com/events/8-cars

Would you be able to help me find the right file to adjust that?

Also, perhaps the team can consider if that's a better option overall for a permanent tweak. It just seems more useful and what the user would be expecting ("Hey, I'm looking at an individual event and it's in the 'Cars' category, so if I click 'Cars' I can probably see all events in that category" is what I'd think 99% of people would be thinking)
Andy, on my end the structure is: http://www.test.alpineascent.com/event/item/14-birthday
Some day it would be nice to have /item removed from the url.

Hi Josh. That's the actual event detail page you're talking about there. My post is about the events listing... so on your site... http://www.test.alpineascent.com/events.

Wouldn't you expect that if you clicked on the 'General' category link that shows by each of your events, you'd be taken to a list of all events in the 'General' category?

I'd expect to see.. http://www.test.alpineascent.com/event/6-general-2

..but EasySocial gives you... http://www.test.alpineascent.com/event/category/6-general-2

So my issue here is not the URL syntax, rather the content that gets delivered to the user.

Hello Andy,

The sole reason that it's linking to it's own page is actually because we are preparing for paid subscriptions and also integrations of 3rd party payment systems. If you need to alter the links, you could do so by editing the theme file /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/events/default.item.php

Hi Mark... Just to ensure we're not misunderstanding each other, the link I'm talking about isn't linking to it's own page... rather it goes to a kind of 'category view' page but it's not a simple view of events in that category which is what to me 99.9% of people would be expecting and wanting. (See my response to Josh above and screenshot of the link in question attached.

That sounds awesome in terms of the future plans though

Thanks for the file reference.

Yes, that's correct Andy This is the same behavior for profile types, and group category too.
