I wanted to try the new Events in 1.3.3 but I can only make an Event Category but can not add fields to it. Not Available.....

If I try to make an event in the frontend I can't even set the date and no forms are shown.

In the Backand the Event pages don't show normal any more. All descent layout and css seems gone.

The installation of 1.3.3 seemed to work fine further.
Hi,

1. I've performed a reinstallation on your site the custom field should be working properly now.
2. This seems like a lingering old file from 1.2 beta days. I've manually removed the old files from your site.
3. I've patched the name issue on your site.

I thought I do a new install but I get this error:

Waarschuwing

JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDXMLSETUPFILE

JLIB_INSTALLER_ERROR_NOTFINDXMLSETUPFILE

I had that when I first tried to install from the tmp folder too.
The way to get the install to start was to use the "Upgrade" button from the Easysocial backend.

At that spot now they say I have the newest version and I can't get the instal started from there.

How could I do a new install without losing all users and prefereces? But without the upgrade buton?

I used to do it from the tmp folder but it doesn't works anymore.

Hi,

Performing an installation won't wipe away users and preferences as it will only overwrite EasySocial's core files.

Anyway, regarding backend event page, replace the file I've uploaded @ /administrator/components/com_easysocial/tables/eventmeta.php

The new file does bring back the layout but does not support me with fields.
I will try to update to 1.3.4 first. I see you are still bussy!
Will keep you informed if it will help.

In the Events I can make Categories and Events but both do not have any fields and I can not add fields to the categories as the previous attachments shows. "No standard (or basic!?) fields available" (In Dutch)

Anyone knows what could be wrong? I was very curious about the events but with this not working it does not feel very save to continue with the rest of EasySocial. I hoped the upgrade to 1.3.4 would help but didn't

Hi,

Hmm it seems like the event fields was not installed properly on your site.

Could you provide us your site's access so that I can perform the installation again on your site and also investigate/fix any issues along the way?

I did!
Hope you can get in and help me out.

I also did mention that the Maintenance tab in the backend returns a blank page.

And if you could check why (older) users do have names in the frontend and backend listing but have empty First / Middle / Last namefields!? I cant find where these names are stired or how to merge the data in one set of fields.

Cool I have seen the effects in the backend and will experiment with the events soon. Looks promising.

I indeed did some curious testrides with earlier beta's.
Thanks a lot for your effective support!

All seem to work fine from the backend but the frontend displays this error in the header now
(And I didn't work in the domain in the meanwhile)

Warning: preg_match_all(): Compilation failed: unrecognized character after (?< at offset 3 in /var/www/vhosts/13/104662/webspace/httpdocs/eindhovendanst.nl/libraries/joomla/application/web/client.php on line 283 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/vhosts/13/104662/webspace/httpdocs/eindhovendanst.nl/libraries/joomla/application/web/client.php:283) in /var/www/vhosts/13/104662/webspace/httpdocs/eindhovendanst.nl/components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/provider/facebook.php on line 332

Any clue what has happened?
It does not show when I am logged in but only for guests.

I checked again and now it is gone.

Did you do anything?
Is it because I am on an other computer
Is it because I opened the JFBConnect preferences looking for clues and closed it again without any change.

I can check the other computer tomorrow again.

Hello Frank,

We didn't actually do anything on your site but looking at the error message that you have posted, it looks like they are originating from JFBConnect. If the error happens again, let us know.

I am experiencing similar issues, there are no fields to create events on the front end. After creating event categories, i could not see any other entry field both front and back end.

Hello Seun,

Are you on the latest version of EasySocial 1.3.4 ? If you are and still experiencing this issue, delete that category and re-create it again.

I will try to reinstall JFBConnect but I do think it has to do with you (Jason Rey) did a reinstal of 1.3.4 and deleted som old 1.2 beta files and moved Fullname data to the empty Easysocial Firstname fields.

Could that be related because I have never seen this before and did nothing in my site while this did apear.

Hello Frank,

I think the changes that Jason perform shouldn't cause any issues because the error which you posted above, seems like there was some regex "syntax" issues with the library from JFBConnect.
