Hi,

We have 2 profile types and need to create bulk accounts [x100's] from the backend. Is there any easy way out to create them via Mysql directly? For now we're unable to use PHPMYADMIN (not working on our instance and sorting out with our hosting provider). Is there any alternative to using phpmyadmin for this work? Appreciate any recommendations for a command line tool to get this done quickly. Other actions include:

1) Auto-activate/enable the account upon creation.
2) Add users to groups upon account creation.
3) Email notification sent to user with login credentials.
4) Establish friends relationship between user and group admin
5) Auto-assign avatar and cover picture based on gender rules

Appreciate help.

Cheers, Juz
Hey Juz,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

May i know how do you create Bulk account from backend? If your Bulk user data store in Joomla user table, so you can achieve the first point (1) Auto-activate/enable the account upon creation.), then you have to re-run again the installation of Easysocial in your site, the system will check which user is not create in Easysocial user yet.

And the rest unfortunately that was not possible at this point of time.

Hi Arlex,

Presently, in the absence of any automated scripts we're creating these accounts manually from ES backend. Hope to work out an automated solution that allows us to at least create user accounts with basic info (username, password, name). Rest all info. can be updated by users directly once they access the system. Any solution?

Cheers.

Have you looked in Joomla Extension Directory? Just a quick pass I saw "Mass User Generation & Import/ Export Admin Tool" but have no personal experience with it...

Hey Juz,

I am really sorry that delay of this reply,

Perhaps you can try what Elieen suggested that "Mass User Generation & Import/ Export Admin Tool" Joomla extension?

If that was possible create a csv file for your bulk account, so you can easier to import in your Joomla site through the extension.

But I do not know whether this help or not.

By the way, thanks for sharing Elieen.

Actually, I have an interest in this myself. So I've posted a pre-sales question in their forum requesting they support specifying an EasySocial profile type name in the CSV for bulk account creation. Feel free to augment/support the request their.

Update: Jasper from JoomAPP indicates he's been thinking of 3rd-party integration and has just contacted Mark about EasySocial.
