HI,

I have an issue with the email parser..

1. If I start a conversation in a category by email when I reply it doesn't go the the category it goes to a blank a category. this doesn't happen if I start the discussion on the website.

Regarding with your email parser issues, may i know which category are you reply to?

Because I noticed you already assigned which user group only can create/reply/view from each categories.

Can you make sure your your user account is it got permission to reply on that category?

Hi Alex,

Yep user is part of the group that can reply,,,,

I have started another discusion by email called "New subject by email" you can see in the back end it has been added to the right catogory but above it in the discusion view you can see the reply i sent by email that has not be assigned to it but has infact been used to create a new discussion to a blank category.

Hello Nick,

I am able to replicate the issue on your site and it seems like it is related with the main email parser does not able to fetch the email and save it into the default category. Can you provide us with FTP access so we can check on the issue directly?

Sorry for late reply to this,

I have temporary disabled all your category email parser setting now, then I tried send post via email (your main email parser email address), it working fine even the reply also can submitted in the discussion post, take a look of my screenshot below.

Can you give it a try now? If this main email parser is working for you too, so that we will test on your category email parser.

Make sure your user have the permission to submit the discussion post/reply.

Hi Alex,

Not working for me..

If you log in you will see my reply to the email sent by the system saying the conversation was started has ended up orphaned(alone not part of the category)

Can you elaborate more details regarding with your reply via email process?

STEP 1 : Using Nick Klyne email address submit post via email
STEP 2 : Then you directly reply on this email?

Am i right?

Investigation A - "Website Creation Team" - Main email parser
Website Creation Team permission
Who can select this category when creating discussion.	
Who can view discussion in this category.
Who can reply discussion in this category.
Who can view replies in this category.
Who can moderate this category.

- WSCT (Only this Joomla user group user can do this above permission in this category)

Investigation B - Certified Facilitators Guild - Category email parser
Who can select this category when creating discussion.	
Who can view discussion in this category.
Who can reply discussion in this category.
Who can view replies in this category.
Who can moderate this category.

- Administrator - CFG - Super Users (Only this 3 user group user have the permission to do this in this category)

What I'm trying to said is :
First - Whoever create/reply discussion via email, this user must be registered in your site and meet with your category user permission.
If the user under the registered user group, then this user do not have permission to create/reply on this 2 category as I shown on above.

If you're still facing this issues, can you provide us which email address/username are you trying to test this email parser from site?

Hi Alex & Ezrul,

The SuperUser as in me Admin is the one I am trying this with and it doesn't work.... both to set up the conversation and to reply to it....

Still no update on line break's and that conversation come out to the group as just one long line ?

Please let me know are these issue resolvable or do I need to move on form this product... I have a Forum screaming to go live and can;t due to these 2 issues, if your product can't do the job then no worries let me know and I will have to think again..... I appreciate the work you are doing but I also think trying to do this my Forum is not working I am still not 100% certain you understand my issues...

Please get back to me....

Hi Guy's

I have just tested this again and the problem has changed!!!!

I put the parser back on for Website Creation Team Category..

Started a conversation form SuperUser Email.... I then get 2 emails saying new conversation has started(I only want one!!!!) if I respond to both of them from SuperUSer email One makes it to the conversation the other start a new blank category conversation....

My Guess is that one of the automated reply's is not able to be responded too, and this is the one I was getting when I set it up so I only got one email to say new conversation has been started...

So either there is an issue with one of your automated responses that it can't be processed properly somehow or I set it up so that Subscribed users only get one email wrongly.... either way I now know the system can work but still ned it to work so that each response generates one email to each user they can respond too.....

P.S Still no line returns being sent in email so everything get to be on one-line makes the emails un-readable..

Since easydiscuss contain a lot of function for the html entity, it took me a lot of time to find which specific function that remove the break tag inside the email. In addition I need to test it on using the live site since localhost is not possible for me to test out the email parser directly from my pc. I've found the caused of this issue and I will provide the proper fix after I've did some more test on your site. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.
