I have uploaded about 250 avatars to ES avatars to enable a user to select one or upload their own during registration.

However, how can they change their avatar? I know when you go to Edit Avatar, you can chose "Upload avatar' but if you choose "Choose from photos", how can I give them access to that group of 250 avatars if they choose that option?

I tried making an album of the 250 avatars (now deleted) but since it was not their own album, a registered user couldn't view it to select a different avatar.

Is there any way to provide a group of avatars for members to choose from, after registration, if they change their mind and want a different avatar but don't wish to make their own?
Hello John,

If you edit the profile type at the back end, under the "Avatars" tab, you'll be able to upload a preset of avatars that users can choose from should they decide to not upload their own avatar

Yes, as I said, I've done that. That's fine during registration. But later on how can an already registered user gain access to that same set of avatars to change the avatar to something else in that set of avatars. Using a separate album doesn't work as users can only see their own album.

Hello John,

I've tested in your site using a user that I registered thru your site and when I edit the profile, I'm able to select the avatar: http://screen.stackideas.com/2014-12-22_1112.png . Did I missed something here?

Ok, I see the problem. In ES, if you mouse over your avatar, you see "Edit avatar." But that only gives you two choices: 1) Upload avatar or 2) Choose from photos (in one of your own albums.) I think It SHOULD also give you a third option which is to select from the list of avatars provided.

To do that, I see, you have to go right into the profile and select Appearance and then you can access the list of avatars provided as your png shows.

Still, I think most users would just click on "Edit avatar" and not realize that they had to go into Appearance.

I'll have to add another tutorial in the footer tutorials menu on how to do this. I've been writing tutorials for my users on how to do various things in ES, ED, and EB as some things will not be obvious to new users. So far I have:
How to make a new group (ES)
How to make and upload your own avatar (ES)
How to send a private message (ES)
How to add an article (K2)

Thanks for clearing this up.

Hello John,

Currently, you can only choose the provided avatar in Appearance page. But, you might want add this feature in our Voices page here: http://www.stackideas.com/voices/easysocial and our developers will get back to you as we are tight with EB5 development.

Nice work on the tutorial. Really appreciate it if you can share the tutorials with other users here.

Thanks, I did post a request in Voices as you suggested.

As for sharing the tutorials, I'm open to that but not sure how to do it. Others can then modify/improve them to suit their situation. I think it would be nice if users of this forum could share things so we don't all have to reinvent the wheel. (Of course, once my site goes live later on in January, everyone can see the tutorials but that isn't the same as providing the page code and images.)
